Hi Istvan!
Don't cry, big boy

I believe, we will have a lot of fun on these days in Zinal. But even more: I bet some beers, that there will be enough snow there when we arrive, maybe even some more.
If it helps: Visit "
www.wetteronline.de", chose "Karten" on the top menu and then "Niederschlag" on the left menu. You can see theit forecast step by step for the next days until Tuesday, and they predict lots of "Niederschlag" for this time. So let's hope, that they are right and relax! I'll start to become afraid on Tuesday

Hehe, if this is the fresh snow (reportedly 5 cm) than those guys and buses on the pic must be really small
There is something else I can't really understand: based on the Zinal website (see above) there was a snowfall on the 19th bringing 5 cm fresh powder, hence altogether 50 cm of snow was reported.
I also checked the site today, it said it felt on the 20th, again 5 cm came, and there was still 50 cm in total.
Who moved 5cm of our precious snow????

Sunday 23rd January: I'm back from Zinal!
It has snowed a lot from Friday. Today I have been freeriding in 80 cm fresh powder!

Amazing!
We are lucky for the ECS '05. The snow is there 4 days before the meeting. This week will be partially sunny, so the 3 best slopes for extremecarving will be prepared in time

Hi Pat,
that's nice to hear!!! But as you know from last year: There are always excellent conditions in Zinal, when some special people are there

Other excellent good news:
it will be sunny during all the ECS!
The only bad point is the temperature: prepare to -15°C to -20°C in the morning

Hehe, we were very lucky with the weather and snow conditions. Indeed I see that for the next week-end the weather forecast is as bad as all the other week-ends since the beginning of the year (except the one of the ECS'04 Very Happy ).
Next year we will do the same

Seemingly the whole thing has turned around, now we have a bit too much snow. It is snowing all over central Europe and will not stop until tomorrow.
It will be a pleasent driving tomorrow.... (almost 1200 km for me)
C U all there,
István
