Or an eyeblink before a fall?
Either way, nice picture.

No, this is really a backside jump. Location is Switzerland / Zinal / Slope Barthelemy (right, Alex?).
This is where the slope starts and it is a great fun to enter the "depth" with a jump from a completely flat plateau. Now Alex is especially lucky, because he is goofy, so while for the rest of us this is a usual frontside jump to begin the slope with, for him this is backside.
Maybe for next year we should redesign the mountain, so people with regular stance can practice the same....

Yep, but Le Col does not begin with such a sudden steep part... if you remember where the slope starts it is rather flat and then it becomes steeper 20 meters later....

Hola my friend, long time no hear.
Do you mean to jump into the pow and field of rocks right at the exit of the lift? Oh no, I'd never dare to do that, but I know an Italian guy being the master of the faceplants offpist....

hmm what's his name

begins with "Fra" and end with something like "ncesco"

Alex, does Zinal have a glacier?
It doesn't seem so from the maps but the slope looks like a typical glacier one.
Anyway that's my favourite picture of the season not carving and not even turning. Shot by my father following me on his board. Slope 33 (Moncrons) in Sauze d'Oulx (Italy, vialattea).
I did not realize I jumped. But watching the photos in the evening it turned out I was, and I like very much how I look.
