Accomodation
Guys, can someone please give me a hint concerning accomodations for the Zinal event.
Hotel Trift seems a bit spartan for me
, the other one (Pointe de Zinal) has not even replied to my request
(maybe they have some prejudice against central European guests....
)
So, if anyone knows a place nearby, with rooms that have a bathroom, please let me know. Otherwise I'll sleep in my boardbag in the trunk.
Thx in advance,
István

Accomodation in Grimentz
Hotels in Zinal (see www.zinal.ch ) are now almost full!
Too much carvers there!
You can find accomodation in Grimentz too, if you have a car. This resort is only 10-15 minutes away from Zinal. Bye the way it's the place where Jacques will be!

Guys, are you going to ride from friday morning on? It seems like I'm anyway going to this area at this time - friends of mine have organized a trip to Belalp (a resort nearby Brig) with arrival on friday 28 evening. So I'm wondering if there's any sence to me to come to Zinal around 11am on friday (yeah, it is quite a distance from Zurich) and learn from you as much as possible in one day?

Schedule
Nils,
By the way, it would be good to have a schedule for the weekend, just to know the non-snowboarding programs.
For example I guess most of us will arrive on the 27th, so it would be nice to have a party together that evening, just to optimize the alcohol level for the next 3 days
Cheers,
István
ps.: Finally I've managed to book accomodation. Frankly, I was really pissed off, there were accomodations that did not have a bathroom and a toilet inside, but it took me 5 mails to figure it out. Then there were hotels not replying for 3 weeks, not to mention the ones that replied me in French on my English request. Now I booked Hotel des bouquetins, at leas they replied (I wrote them 3 times....)
but at least they have a toilet and a bathroom, and what's more, they could write this to me in English...... My first experience with Swiss tourism is not that smooth.... maybe just by accident

Road to Zinal
No, it's not too steep, though narrow at some places. But the buses have no difficulties. However, if it snows a lot, the chains may be obligatory (it happens very rarely).Oliver wrote:Does someone now the last kilometers to Zinal? Are there any difficulties like really steep or small roads because I have only snow tires and no snow chains.
