hi rebae,
i rode the renntiger for 3 seasons, in the first season i liked it a lot, ( i didnt have much to compare). but after 3 weeks on this board the picture changed.
it has lost its chamber and stiffnes(the nose is very soft from the beginning). as my riding style became more aggressive and precise, and i got used to my new pogo, the RT doesnt get any attention anymore. For example if i try to push into a frontside the nose bends and becomes a catapult, it always kiks me into a frontflip.(see the "how to measure the flex of your Board" thread below). i wouldnt recomment this board anymore

my renntiger63SL is old, i guess it s the 99 series, the last ones that were yellow(i liked the design), but as i said i liked it when it was new. but this board doesnt last too long, and i doubt they changed the newer ones to much, the nose is still supersoft and the design only got worse.

Do you know, of what is made core of renntiger? I've read, that foam core (AFAIK some Rossi's boards are made of it) lasts about 30 riding days, whereas wood core's life expectancy is >100 days.

Renntiger has woodcore. Their web site says:
" Tip-to-Tail Sensor Woodcore. Voelkl’s patented Tip-to-Tail and Side-to-Side woodcore is made of poplar wood with a special, perforated surface structure. This guarantees an optimal weave / core interface, providing the board with great shock absorption and flex properties. The core is light and durable, resulting in an excellent performing board. "
Guess the issue must be with old, pre '00 era boards. I think that starting 01-02 the boards also got stiffer? My Rt 173 is 03-04. I measured the camber when I got it. After maybe 15 days riding (not many, I know), the measurement is withing the measuring device tolerances. At least I have the opportunity and now also motivation to watch out for this.
Oh, the camber? 15 mm, with only boards own weight. Should also measure BOBSI for it. There was some thread were RTs had quite different values...
Pokkis... The Rad-Airs are made in Völkl factory using the same core... getting worried?

The new series of RT is stiffer than old and have different (less) "taper".
old version (<2001) 255 - 190.8- 233 comparable radius 9.3
new version 255 - 195 - 240 " " 9.15

What about the DDD technology mentioned ? Do you feel a difference as compared to another race board?
I was also wondering if the snowboard has thus a tendency to turn when doing a schuss ?
