Binding angles
Could someone explain why a 55/50 degree setup is advised? I just wondered why the rear binding is set less.

I think this is a valid question, so let's elaborate a bit more on this.
Most of the people with average bio-mechanics feel comfortable standing in stride with having 3-6 degrees difference between the 2 feet (like a duck).
You might be different though, being extremely cross-legged or bowlegged, or whatever.
But one thing is for sure: If you feel that you gain flexibility and hence having a lower center of gravity JUST by sitting on your rear leg and jamming your knees together and that makes you want to have a higher angle on the rear foot, you are most probably on the wrong track. Here's a good article on this topic: http://www.bomberonline.com//articles/s ... _knees.cfm
I hope this helps.
