Old board question and wobbling board

Post by Mattias » Monday 8 November 2004, 19:41

Hi!
I wonder if anyone know something about Oxygen Krypton 2. 170 cm. Is it good for Extremecarving? My weight is 64 kg and I have rather small feet.

My second question: When carving in a moderat speed or above, the nose of the board seems unstable and wander around. Could it be the board? Or is it me? My first thought was that I was leaning back and therefore taking weight off the nose of the board, causing it to wander. :?: The tail of the board is 8 mm wider than the nose. Could this affect this?

I´ve also tried a Freesurf Highlander 150 cm with 7 m radius. When trying to lay it down it throw me off like a mad bull!

Hi, it is very difficult answer without seeing your ride but here is my best quess 8)
Board sounds to be quite old ? and you seem to be quite light :) and if you refere here with
the nose of the board seems unstable and wander around
to nose woble, then my quess would be that board is faulty one. But if it question that you dont get grip with front portion of cant then it could be also your weight distribution.
150 Highlander is fast board to turn :D my wife had 155 several years ago. It is real beast to try EC.

Yes its old

Yes the board(Oxygen Krypton 2) is a bit old, around 97 perhaps, but as good as new. I guess the board is a bit stiff for me. Most new board have a tail as wide as the nose or narrover than the nose. But my board has a wider tail than the nose(8 mm). How could this affect my boards performance?
And I guess I need to practice my weight distribution :?

Hej mattias,

Indeed the fact that the tail is a bit wider mide add to the wobbling ( i am sure u mean more like the tail is chattering and losing edge on backside no???

Try to adopt the best Rotation turns you can ,this will make your backside and lost edge less obvious!

the KR is a great board really, a bit narrow/small radius for EC but nice!

Villkommen där!

Nils

What do you know about Oxygen KR

Hi Nils!
I wonder if you know more about this board. Radius? Is it a SL or GS board?

Actually it is the nose of the board that becomes unstable in higher speeds and begins to wander around a bit. The problem is more pronunced at heelside turns. Feels like my weight is to far back on the board. I think I will try to move the bindings forward.

Keep carving!
:P
