Tja is not easy to find places like that. I go often to austrian resorts also because the slopes are v good prepared and the skilifts are new and well maintained. I will be in nassfeld from 19 till 23 Dec if you want to join me there.
In any case, in the next months i'm going to test new spots that i presume could be "attractive"; being more precise, Weissbriach and Kotschlach.
Consider Bad Gastein - Bad Hofgastein as well - being there years ago- nice

There are some very good Ecing resorts in Austria. But they are mostly crowded in the weekends with locals and with the holidays. If you are not depending on the holiday times then you could go there:

- Saalbach-Hinterglemm
- Katschberg
- Ski- & Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000 (Hintertux)
- St. Anton (Freeride)

Okay no problems then to visit the more known resorts I mentioned, they won't be that crowded.

Steeper runs for EC:
Sölden, Rettenbach side
Kaprun top left glacier slope
Zell am See (the one on the top)
Nassfeld (the main slope taking you down to the Cube if I remember correctly)
Hochkar (there is a new black run on the left hand side if you stand in the middle looking upwards)
Pitztal (the main run, middle part)

These are the ones that came to my mind quickly, but there are several others.

But I've never seen a slope like the ones in Zinal...

Positive confirmation on that, but on the down side is the lack of apresski.

Sölden, i think that 25 or what ever it si between Giggi and Rettenbach is even better.
And Obegurkel, or how ever it is written correctly, has few nice drops wich are good option for real carving when you get pissed about too many folks in Sölden slopes.

Correct

http://www.obergurgl.com/

has some very nice slopes, not crowded, but very expensive to stay in the village. So stay somewhere else near the village and take the car.

It is so close to Sölden that you can live there and spoil your evenings there and then have fun on day time in O

36

Yeah, that 36 is always very quiet, very nice for goofy riders because it's a little slanted at one side.

Hey guys, did you all read the above? - Sölden :wall:
Hans wrote:- Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Hm, I think Saalbach- Hinterglemm is crowded too.
St.Anton the same. That resort is well known as a good freeride resort.
So if snow is falling, hundreds of freeriders try to find untracked snow.
In that case you better go to Klösterle near by.
Katschberg has the long black Direttissima. And - is not crowded.
But I don´t know the freeride possibilities.
And yes - Zillertal. My favourite. I´ll be there from 9. to 16. January.
All villages above Mayrhofen are calm. Several ec-slopes.
Freeriding? Hm, if snow is falling, ...... :pray2:

I think crowd is an issue everywhere you go in Austria on weekends. Try midweek, but avoid the ski-break when all the kids are out of school skiing.

Slope 25 is indeed great in Sölden, but it is typically closed before the real season... (even closed today) and once the season is really on and you have snow on smaller mountains, too, you don't necessarily want to go to a glacier.

Hans: you are right about Zinal. Apres Ski is in our hotel room with Francesco, Alex and several bottles of vine. BTW, read that you screwed your knee, feel sorry for you, heal fast.

Or it is on our balcony in Zinal on afternoon sun with skiwax and beer
