Flashing News from Davos-Klosters-Mountains!
beside all the new chairlifts, gondolas etc. up to the two 40'000 kg (fourty tons) cablecars (*) reaching the high rock-walls, which are on construction now in Switzerland:
Schatzalp - Strela will be re-opend next winter as a vintage ski-area!
- slow-up skiing
- easy slopes, prepared like decades before
- no artifical snow at all
- slow speed vintage chair- and skilifts (system Bartholet and Oehler)
- ticketing-system with punch card (cardboards with patern of wholes)
- independent hours of operating to Davos-Klosters-Mountains
but:
- the spectacular 30 person-cablecar Hauptertälli (connection between Davos-Parsenn and Schatzalp) don't work!
- not in common to Davos-Klosters-Mountains ticketing!
- connection-track from Parsenn only practicable by ski.

They makes me happy! Watch pictures of this lovely cable-car in Switzerland! (not from Davos, one of hunderts)
For to enter the wood-box, You have to go up stairs and climb down into the box! (Pic 1)
Then You will be suspendet 1000 meters of high, verry close to the air (Pic 2) up to all the beautifull alpine flowers!
Sure, there are no soft and residential heated seats, like You would find them e.g. on Sölden's cablecar. But instead of only 573 m of high like on Schwarze Schneidbahn I+II taking 6-7 minutes for going up, the lovely red box on the pictures climbs up 1000 m during 10 minutes!

Don't be worry about security of vintage cablecars and lifts, they are under strong inspection and almost of heavy duty construction.
starikashka, watch the news today. President of Russia will vistit today Alexander Suworow Memorial, deep in a wild gorge of swiss mountains!
Keep in mind, 1'500 m east of the memorial, in the Year 1937 the world wide first skilift with stays out of metal was running there on the Nätschen. The lift was serving 300 meters of high (see picture), access to the lift only by train. Now adays it's fine there fore easy carving and freeriding!

No, president of Russia didn't watch old lifts and there is now a 4-seat chairlift (*). But he signed a new agreement with Switzerland. So You are now able to get a VISA on a much easyer way, for to travel into Switzerland. An advantage for all Russians, they want to visit next Swoard ECS in Zinal!
(* and I get Yesterday a voucher for to get a skipass at half price there for Gemsstock & Nätschen)

Is this the Ennenda bähnli on the pics? Sadly, it is going to be demounted this year to have a more modern and not as cute vehicle.Schneewurm wrote:They makes me happy! Watch pictures of this lovely cable-car in Switzerland! (not from Davos, one of hunderts)

Is the area below boardable/skiable? Never been there in winter, but if I recall properly, it is evil steep and covered with forest.
