Industrial factory snowboard

Not nidecker but i think very far

Give you a good idea how a board is done by industial.
The fiberglass could be glued before using on the sandwitch.
The edge are bended before assembling, you could find magnet under the die to give pressure on the edge ( not using glue directly with the base Ptex)
Love the bling bling metal deco ...........
All the shape is done after molding by using stone sharpening
(I meen that the die doesn't give you the board) you need a lot of work after.
You need really a lot of handmade to do a snowboard or a ski.
This video is sandwitch technologie with wood core and sidewall not Pu injection don't follow !
the core could be also made in a die by Pu injection !
Ok best core are in wood but good wood, i watch Flow wood core made with several pieces of wood (just to used basket end of wood i think ..........just a pitea ...........and it is written wood core ......... !)

Sorry, the shape is already a done deal BEFORE molding. There is no shaping after it comes out of the mold. The shape is pre-defined by the metal edges.

When it comes out of the mold they just remove the glue and the overhanging parts of the topsheet and potentially other layers.

There is also sharpening and stone grinding after the molding, but again, that is not shaping.

Yes István

The good word is : sharpening not shape as i write before.

Agree also layers like fiber glass are over the final shape of the board , you need to cut them after ( Dynastar used water jet cut for this on ther skis)

I came from die casting so i was surprise by the molding of ski or snowboard to need so work after molding.

The edge are just sandblasted and hardened in the the die not sharpened.

The shape is done by the die (aluminum CNC machined 4 axes but could be machined flat and bent after nose/tail) and there is really not a lot of gap between edges & Ptex base.

there are several video about snow construction but Elan one is really well done!
