Any good slopes in Val Thorens?

Post by erik » Thursday 26 March 2009, 20:01

Within 2 weeks am going on a 6 days trip to Val Thorens.
I do not want to lose precious time looking for good slopes
I know lazy but I only have a few days (will be the last for this seazon  )
Does anyone know where the best runs are for EC?

Hello

There is a lot of potential good slopes. At this date, Cime Caron is a good spot, high altitude, North oriented --> good snow

Unfortunatly the slopes aren't groomed every day and generally there is a lot of good skiers going straight down, so EC may be dangerous :(

If you have the 3 Vallées skipass, consider to go to Courchevel. Very good slopes for carving and also EC. in this case, ask Le Fanfoué. He works in Courchevel and is a good guide to discover the slopes :)

Hello

Totally agree with Arnaud go to Courchevel for carving ( few people)
On Val tho for me only morning & early
Lift (Funitel Bouquetin or 3 Vallées II) for the black slope Mareille , only morning because South orientation.
lift funitel Peclet - red slope Beranger
lift Cascade Don't laught blue one but at the end a good deepy wall "Dalles"

There is good deep slope but generally to narrow in Val tho for EC or no exit for the begeneers that used this slopes so be care ful.

You are now in spring snow & Val tho is for me the best place to do offpist ........... well my favorite ........

Is it the 1st time you come on the 3 Vallées ?
Did you stay in Val tho ?

Allright, seems to me there are enough slopes for amusement. I indeed have the 3 Vallées-forfait.

Actually, I'm going on a skiholliday  but I can't resist the need to bring my Swoard :D

The idea is to have fun with the Swoard in the early morning so perhaps I will be lucky that most people are still in bed then
In the afternoon put on the skies :evil2: (going to buy some Movements so Swiss guys should be happy)
Hope off-piste will be virgin powder

It's only my 2nd time in Val Tho and first time has been aprox. 10 years ago 8O

Hey Fanfoué, could you give me some possible EC-slopes information? Thanx :bravo:

Hey iceripper,

I will be there from the 12th of april till the 17th. French, English, German, I speak a bit of each :)

I think it will be a bussy week for me: I'm also going to teach one of my friends (girly sofbootster) the rotation technique and another some offpiste-skiexperience and I definatly want some skiqualitie and ~quantitie for myself :D

Nevertheless, it would be nice to meet another EC-er.
