Newborn extremecarver?

Post by Mattis » Thursday 28 February 2008, 23:14

Thank you once again for a very nice event in Zinal - even beeing an associate member of the group. The event started with 5 runs in a rown in Bartholome and ended in a crash in front of the restaurant followed by a concussion.
Thank you for your concern about my health. I'm fine, but have a headache and some discolorations here and there.
I have been told that I said that when I'm feeling better, I'm going to try the extreme carver that is waiting for me in Haralds basement (I'm not sure if I was consious while saying that). So may be you next year will observe something strange and funny coming down the hills, ready for all the instructions Jaque, Patrice and the other 200 carvers might be willing to provide. (Hans, the ski-carver).

You must have had a concussion if you start of thinking to learn EC. Don´t let Harald get you on to something. He want´s to get rid of his old board that is for sure
But if you should really do so we will take lessons from Jacques together OK?
Newborns are allways welcome,
Viviane.

Good to hear, that you are OK, not lost your humor sense and ready for new challenges. :bravo:
I'm sure that everyone meets you warmly next year in Zinal, be it on skis or snowboard!
Too bad that Hans username in this forum is already taken...

Thank you for the information, Vahuur. I'm trying to change my username, but that was not easy. Have a nice trip to Oppdal. hans

Hi Viviane,
It has stuck my mind that Harald will use this opportunity to get rid of some old crap. On the other hand, he does not have any boards that's older than a couple of years, and I might break that board anyway by crashing into something or somebody, either in my view or into somebody that's coming out of the blue, just to disappear in cyberspace or to other places.
The weather here is no good for skiing (+4 and rain). As we might have told you, I can ski 35 minutes by car from my home (see: www.tryvann.no). They have a very sophisticated snow machine system there, but rain is still no good. I also think that starting my extreme carving career on an icy surface might not be that smart.

Hi Hans,
I've visited your Tryvann Vinterpark today.
Very nice area! Lucky guys, the three of you, to live so close to such a wunderfull place! Perhaps not a bad idea at all to learn boarding given the possibilities.
How are you, everything cleared up in your head? Although I had the idea you were well allready the week after the unhappy event.
We are still living on the left-overs from Zinal, practising on our miserable indoor slope a bit. But... we are happy :D :D
And never complain
Cheers,
your highflyer, Viviane

Hi Vivian,

Thank you for your concern. I have had two full weeks at work, and feel OK except that I'm more tired than usual - and that says a lot! Tried my skis with Harald in our local slope today, and that went fine. No women ran me down - or did anything else to me, for that sake. However, the weather was nasty, 4C, drizzling and windy.
The mountains in Norway have all time high of snow. Tore has a cabin at Hemsedal ( www.hemsedal.com ) which is about 250 k from where we are living. Last Thursday the snow was drifting and the wind so hard so he had to exit the cabin through a window.
Tomorrow we have the Holmenkollen ski festival, which takes place in our local ski area. And as usual the weather is going to be mild and foggy, so what you will see from the ski jump competition is probably nothing, but may be you can hear them falling.
Take care and have fun and don’t get sun-burnt in your ski slopes. Say hi to Master Airport!
Cheers,
Hans

PS 1
Harald will probably report from his recent trip to Oppdal (he’s driving from slope to slope). Lots of snow, lots of wind and lots of nice people (Pokkis, Vahur and others).

PS 2
Heard the story about the two pilots from Spantax that should land at Oslo Airport? The one pilot said: “Did you notice how short the runway was?”. The other pilot replied, “Yes, but did you notice how wide is was?”.
