Hi all,
By this morning there was at least one available room (for three people) in Trift hotel, which is the one I reserved. Didn,t ask if there was any others left, sorry.

One question to Nils: Is there any point in taking one,s board, or will be there enough demo boards?. I,m asking this in order to avoid posssible extra lugagge costs in the plane, and make the trip also more comfortable.

We will arrive in Geneve at Friday midday. If any of you happens to travel to Zinal around this time, please led us know.

Ok here is a few precisions

> meeting times
Reduced skipass > in order to benefit the reduced skipass, we will need
everyone to be at a sharp 8.15 am hour in front of the main lift in Zinal.
The reason is the resort is giving us a amount of reduced tickets, and we are supposed to give them to the participants as they arrive the surplus of tickets will be given back to the resort.
So it is important that everyone arrives at 8.15 in order to get the tickets from us so that we can take the first lift at 8.30. We will give the rest of tickets to the resorts after this time everyday but we are not sure that it will be possible for participants arriving too late to get them from the pass desks. so BE SHARP and be there at 8.15!
IMPORTANT: we will give exchange the skipass against the payment of its cost: please have exact cash ready in euros or CHF since we don't have visa machines with us!
Skipass price is : 10 CHF per day / 7 euros (sorry had to convert a bit higher but its simplier than 6.5 ).

Board demos and gear
We are taking as much Swoard as we can (might want some help to carry them up there btw ) and it means we will have around 20+ demo boards there, in all sizes and flexes. It means there is likely to be some wait times on certain models that people really look for ( 175M, 168M, 175H and 168H mostly).
The ECS lasts 3 days, so everyone will have the occasion to ride test boards

BUT it also means everyone should take its personnal boards/boots and bindings for the ECS, so there is noone that will be left out without carving possibilities.

Hotels> most people will stay either at the Trift or the Pointe de Zinal, so there is a good chance we all see each other after ski, or for drinks after dinner

. Might want to find out a nice bar so we can all meet after dinners in our hotels (that is pat and jacques's mission for the two next week ends). There is two nights there , sat and sunday, so we can maybe change if the first one isn't good etc.. !

BUT the important thing is sharp at 8.15 ! so not over drinking/sex life etc..!

because we will not be there at the lift desk, however, we will try to leave them unused pass so people that are late can claim them at the cashier desk and ask for the 'extremecarving meeting ' price.

Related to board demos just quick check,
does test board have bindings or should i take extra pair for testing ( so i dont need to take bindings out of my boards)

is there safe place to store board during test runs

I can really not wait to get there to ride for 5 days

let's just hope for great sunny weather

we'll have boards, very few spare bindings> it is better if you have a spare pair in a backpack for the test (or the ones on your board to take off). There is likely to be a place where we will be able to leave some gear, but anyway the "booth" will always be with someone (us) so no worries (especially in switzerland there is very few problems)

Hi Nils,
Pokkis, Paula and I arrive at Jan 29 and leave Feb 3. Do you know if it will be possible to have a reduced price (do not expect 10 CHF) on lift passes for Friday Jan 30 and Tuesday Feb 3 also?

We also plan to rent a car in Geneva as it easier to carry all the stuff. Does anybody know of a good and reasonably priced car rental for a car that can carry our luggage and boards? Pokkis and Paula arrive in the evening 19:05. I arrive in the morning so I will have time to fix it.

unfortunately not possible (reduced price for the other days) but zinal is very cheap compare to lets say Verbier, and you will be making economies anyway by riding in Zinal
