@Felix

Well, one of a good manufactor is only 24.7 km on the shortest way, or 27.3 km on the fastest way from Nils away! And they can manage Flex Considerations with their unique ultra-sonic wood-checking-system better then all others Snowboard-Factorys on the World, if they realy want to do it!

This summer is going better than the last two, and on many glaciers there is the double or also the triple of the snow than the last year...so there is a good possibility to have good and new snow for November.

@Schneewurm:

Amazing data... which depress me :-(

Do you have data for the glacier at Saas Fee (the one I know the best)?

Probably the data will be better for 2007, because the summer was often rainy and cold.

@Alex
Are you shure?
More then one week ago, the mountains have been coverd with snow down to 2700 meter. Entry August they were washed clean, up to a high of 3400 meter! August the first, a friend of mine was on top of the Mont Blanc (4807 m). Snow conditons there are now fine!

@fivat
I have no Data from Saas-Fee, but they have had every autumn enough snow. (last October > 100 cm, about 130/140 cm or so)
Alalin start at a level, where most others areas are ending. The slopes there are steeper then others and exactly on the north face of the mountain, not comparable with Soelden.

I intend last autumn to go there, but to many poeples were there, because around in Europe the Glaciers have been on bad conditions. So there, up on Alalin, in October 2006 stayed 40 (fourty !!) National-Teams (Ski or Snowboard) for training. Many of them use a lot of room for theirs Giant-Slalom- and Super-G- runs.
Average waiting time at lift-entry, was at about a quarter hour.
Average waiting time at lower Gondola in the morning, was nearly at an hour (except sat/sun --> more then an hour)

2 Alpes the last year was 5cm ....now is 100cm, Saas Fee less than 100cm...now 200cm; so i'm sure for better condition of France and Switzerland glacier but perhaps not for Austrian.
I was in Zermatt at the end of June and I found winter condition, and in July i was in Tignes and I found terrible wet snow... but was a lot!
At this moment at saas fee new snow is falling :wink:
