Songs for an improvement of mood

Post by Eirene1961 » Tuesday 12 December 2006, 12:31

Which songs really have an effect on you when you're in depression. I mean, the songs which help you to be in good mood again. Interisting, which kind of melodies will be the most of all.

The best song against depression is the one you get when you walk on the snow, or carve a well groomed slope :D

Depression

Post by Hans » Tuesday 12 December 2006, 18:37

When I am in a depression, I am drinkin' me to death or jump from a high building: problem solved. Never used music with a depression only when the weather is bad, but that's another depression :? I think

Well, try with Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Offspring, Blink 182 and Jamiroquay just to name a few..

I suspect she's a spammer, but interesting subject to be discussed. I am searching for some good motivating/carving songs myself...

Well, Nils, I do agree with u... I stopped listening to music while riding many years ago...when I was still a skier. I was listening to Running Free from Iron Maiden when I caught an ice patch at maximum speed. Lost my edge and almost broke one of my knees against the skiboot of an older man who, while I was moaning on the ground, began hitting me with his ski poles..bastard!!

So motivate yourself before riding!!

SORRY... but with helmet on and the sound of the snow that you push during a carve you cannot hear anybody coming fast from behind, and always for the helmet, you cannot have the right perception of the direction of who is coming near you ...we need a little mirror into the helmet!!! so for me...hear rock music (at low volume) is a good way to have a good carve and i can suggest linkin park, foo-fighters, ac/dc.

Maybe you don't hear riding noise, but if they scream, then you should hear them.
And what becomes to rear view and mirrors, then here is solution, though it's motohelmet:

I wonder, how suitable are motohelmets for snowboarding? Anyone with experience in both areas?

I agree with you...but low volume allow the right level of adrenalin and hear scream, sometimes i go to carve alone and the music is a good friend!
this motohelmet is a wonderful invention  ...but maybe too heavy! I hope that soon somebody make something similar for us!

I lost my reliable Giro 9 helmet on Sunday.
Had little crash just by myself and it hit slightly too heavily to slope and it broke, luckily my head survived quite well. I raised quite soon up and ride down the slope, had chat with friends, went up came down, walked to hotel, packed boards, changed clothes and after that memory recording stated again. So i lost bout 30+ minutes memory totally, last thing i remember was like 15-20 seconds before crash and next thing sitting on sofa in hotel.
So if you dont have helmet yet, get one :bravo:

Fire? Could not find that one from Giro catalog, but 9 looks still to be lightest one.
Anyone know any other freeride helmet with good (proven?) protection with less weight (less than 400 grams)?

Latest kick for me is among others Presto Ballet:
http://www.vanderhoofband.com/home.asp
Rock of '70 at it's best: no computer sounds, just pure guitars, drums, mellotron (:clap2: ) , hammond (:clap2:).
Anything other with Roine Stolt goes as well (latest albums are:

or

boy did this thread, helpfull to everyone, get off to a bad start, but I'm happy to see it accelerate. I just picked up a pair of entymonic research er4 earphones, plugged them into my motorola razr, burned the mp3's @ 192 bits, can hear conversations over the music, love the addition of great sound to great sights, (a 90 degree of the world, my head is canted, err twisted, err, sideways 90 degrees to vertical when I carve)

as for music, to each their own
