1st time for EC in the US, any advice on travel agencies?

Post by xjbxwkl » Saturday 18 November 2006, 4:37

Hi!

I'm studiying in the US for a year, and would like to spend my winter break on my board preferably in the Rockies.
So far, I could not find any providers of group travels I could join. Is it not common over here to join a group as a single traveler?
Or are there any kind of resorts/accomodations preferred by singles?

I would appreciate any advice!

Kai

Hi Kai,

I was also as a intern for 6 months in the US. I spent during that time 8 days in Vail, Colorado. I´ve got a friend who is living in Vail so I had no problems to find a accommodation and can give you no tips about travel agencies.

Vail, Colorado is a great resort for back country riding and carving on slopes as well. So I can recommend this resort. Lift tikets are more expensive in the US then in europe, check out prices for Vail here https://onestore.snow.com/index.asp

I took my Sword and boots with me. It is not easy to rent hardboot equipment in the US. If possible you should take your stuff with you.

Kai,
I spent one month in Vail, also, very nice ski resort, I lived in a hotel there.
Then I moved to Copper mountain, 30 mn from Vail. I worked for Club Med there for 5 months, slopes are great for EC, I wished I had my swoard back then.
Club Med have "hotel clubs" all over the world and it is great if you go by yourself, there are lots of singles... for "after ski"....
We even had a "single mingle" evening for people to meet.
Good if you are 30, 35 YO.
you can check clubmed.com
