Looking for a list of resorts that are above-average for EC.
Especially good grooming.

great resort

Post by Snow Bandit » Monday 28 November 2005, 16:30

SUN VALLEY idaho, usa 8O :!: it rocks :silly: it's the best boarding by far i've ever done. great area. lots of trails. groomed and fresh powder. it would be nicer if it had a little more snow like Targee idaho, but Sun Valley has a few runs for every type of boarding or skiing you want.
groomed trails, speed tracks, snowboard mougles, perfect cliffs, what else do you want?
Desire.

Squaw Valley, CA, USA! Especially Siberia Bowl first thing in the morning. Perfect corduroy, steep lead in, and it's so good! I remember going so fast on that one morning, I scared myself! LOL! Whenever I dream about riding, it's always under Siberia Chair!

Heh, I love carving Siberia at Squaw in the morning... and late morning... and then later in the day hugging as far skiier's right where it isn't all mogulled up. Have I seen you riding there? I'm the only one there on a Swoard, as far as I can tell. Short, Asian guy, black pants, usually in a red and white shirt or sometimes a black jacket with white stripes.

Unfortunately, I haven't been back to my adopted home since I left in September 1996. Ten years next year. Man! That flew by. But that run off Siber was/is the best I've ever ridden. [sigh] dreaming of dropping in under Siber [sigh]

Hochkar -maybe not the best but very good.

Had an astonishing day there today together with Frunobulax. Great Carving Action. Today about 10 raceboarders have been there. Out of a total of maybe 600-1000 people.

My favourite place is Monte Elmo (Helmbahn) in Alta pusteria (Hoch Pustertal)... It's difficult that you find a slope like the one that's there...3kilometers of happyness...Sorry for my Italian-english...

Hy, just came back from a trip to Sillian Tirol. The slopes were well prepared all the time. A lot of wide areas good for carving, but not super steep like the Zinal slope. There are some steep and wide areas in the valley slope.

I was surprised to see 10+ Hardbooter every day, mostly locals.
my Hoteltip: Sporthotel Sillian

Finally the best area to better get to know my new Swoard.

Livigno, slope Trepalle and around. It really rocks.

István

ps.: But have to admit that Zinal is one of the most long&wide&steep&groomed slope I've ever seen

Livigno, Italy. Wide open pistes, well-groomed and even, and not so many people. Not too expensive either, compared to, say, Sölden. Will be back there again this season 4th to 11th March. It rocks!

Hello to everyone!

I think that LIVIGNO is the best of the locations I have visited. Not so many people, wide open pistes and also good party-es after snowboarding. I will be back there again this season from 18th to 25th March.
