Step-in bindings
Hey folks!
quick question to all extreme-carvings-cracks:
Did someone of you ever tryied to extreme-carve with step-in
bindings. I have a bad feeling that I'll never be able to do nearly
as good as the cracks of you or do I have just to practice a lot?
Many thanks for your hints!

I've tried X-bone step-in from raichle, and then bought a pair of race-titaniums from F2(normal plate bindings).
I must say that the F2 binding is much better with control and that the boot is more fixed on the boot.
I prefere the Titanium race from F2.
Greetings, Dave

I assume you mean the Intec step-in system? They make the boot-binding interface a bit stiffer but I don't think the difference is very big. I use Intecs and can do toe-side ex. carves with no trouble at all. My heelsides need some work but I'm pretty sure that is a matter of my technique, not my boots. I can get my butt right down against the snow, but not my upper body... maybe this year though.

Hi,
This topic has been discussed numerous times before. Use the search device. One thread is

According to Jacques and Patrice, step-ins (Intecs) are too stiff for EC, especially in the backside turns. Others have other opinions.

Another question bringing to this thread. Perhaps it is stupid, but see below.
You all are talking about not riding Step-Ins. In my old setup i have an Proflex Step-In with Intecs in my boot. And for my new SWOARD i´m thinking to buy an normal Race Titanium (without Step-In)
Is it possible with the Intec heels of my boots riding in a standard Binding (no Step In).
Are there any problems with the "nippels" in the heel and the bail of the binding!
Thanks
Martin
