3 Valleys - beginning of April
Hi
I'll be swoardboarding in 3 valleys at the beginning of April. Do you know any particularly good slopes for EC in that huge resort ?
Cheers

I have been to 3Vallees about 8 times.
Best slopes for EC:
Black slope of Caron
Nice slope for EC, but only when just prepared.
Downside: mostly very busy; Caron cablecar is one of the few lifts in 3V where you ALWAYS have to wait (mostly 30 minutes). So in theory nice, but in practice not.
Cote Brune
This is the red slope from Mt de la Chambre (Les Menuires) towards Meribel.
Nice wide slope with good gradient and 500 m height difference. NW-facing so good snow. Fast quad chair mostly without waiting time.
La Masse, red slope from top
Opposite Les Menuires. Relatively quiet because off the main routes. Exposition away from the sun. Good gradient and height difference. Fast cabinlift.

Sorry, if i'm a little late.
Cime de Caron is a must, when you stay at Trois Vallees. You have to ride it at least once. Ideal steepness, wide (mostly) and not very crowded.
Further I can recommend the slopes in Meribel Mottaret, especially the Tougnette (black) right at the bubble. It starts very steep so not many skiers are on the slope. Also very good is Mouflon (red) from Menuires to Meribel. Also not very crowded.
Val Thorens is very busy but the snow is better in April because of its high altitude.
I recognised that the slopes were not very well groomed in general. So that the area is probably not the best for (extreme) carving. I prefer smaller areas which are not so busy. Furthermore the riding level of the skiers and snowboarders seemed to be very low. I don't know why but I did not see many good skiers or snowboarders.
It made me sick seeing all those unable, nice weather, slow riding skiers (and boarders) crossing my line and destroying my run.
Just my two cents

Hmmm, any area is smaller than trois vallees. So I could say Livigno is great or Ischgl/ Samnaun. But those are not really small areas.
I like very much the Schoeneben at Reschenpass in Italy. Some pretty steep slopes, well grooemd and very wide.
But my favourite is the Kandahar in Garmisch Partenkirchen.
What is the meaning of "lowlier"?

And now to something completely different....
Topic!
I've been to Trois Vallees two weeks ago. The snow became really wet and in lower areas it was more brown than white. So, if it did not snow anymore since then, the conditions would have gone really bad. I think I got some of the last good days there - regardless of my injury.
