First Ride...not satisfied.
Hi all
Because of a accident with my leg i was not able to go snwoboarding till now, and i've got
a brandnew Swoard !!
Yesterday i went the first time with my new equipment on the piste.
I drive since 15 Years Alpine Boards, but this time i drove like a beginner,
i do counter-rotation and such weird style because i was very unconfortable
with the new equipment.
I got the Indys with Intec Titanflex, i think the Indys are way to hard, no flex and nothing !!
After 4 Hours i gave up because my legs hurts. I think this indys are so stiff
it would be better to completly remove the springs.
What you recommend me, i really want to some EC but i wasn't even able to do some normal carving !! Help !!
Can't be that hard because last year with my Silberfeil F2 i ride pretty well !

First Ride .... injury
Think it has nothing to do with your INDY's but more due to the fact that you haven't snowboard for a (long) time. And your legs which are probably not 100% fit. I have board my SWOARD with Raichle AF700 with original springs (these are the same as the INDY's) last year and had no problems at all. And I have a very poor condition but muscles enough to compensate this lack of condition. The SWOARD is very easy to board even with very uncomfortable too stiff boots.
So don't give up and don't push it too hard in the beginning.... Take your F2 which you are more used to (Think the Swoard is easier to ride (in the slush) than the F2 because of the width).
Hope this will help

Yeah, maybe you are right my leg wasn't ready for ride, have to try next year...and i wasn't brave enough to lay down with speed in mind of a accident my leg will break again.
I did some carves when it was not to steep and nobody was on the piste.
But anyway, what setup you would recommend for the euipment ?
Remove RAB System Completly and remove the damper system from the intec titanflex binding to stand lower ?
I've got to get used of the big radius of the sword, it's was not possible to
ride some short curves like i could with the F2 Silberpfeil.

one thing, have enough rest!
Because if you force your leg in the beginning and your leg snaps, it could be worse than before!
Then you can't carve for a longer time (or in the worst case never again)
Unfortunately this is reality!
Take it slow and the carves will come back

Some things to think over..........
It all depends to your own preferences. Some guys extremecarve with INDY's, some guys hate those boots. If you search about springs in this forum, you will find topics enough about modifying the RABsystem. Which size of SWOARD do you own? I have a 168 Hard, I can do laydowncarves with big turns. I can also do slalomturns with this board. Bomberstyle: no problems with this board, it's as versatile as you want. It's not the board, the limit of possibilities with this board is the capacity of yourself.Boardercrime wrote:Yeah, maybe you are right my leg wasn't ready for ride, have to try next year...and i wasn't brave enough to lay down with speed in mind of a accident my leg will break again.

Bindings: I don't like the Titanflex (too high), but again all personal. Try them without the bumbers and you will experience the difference by yourself. Yes, it can be a pain in the ass to get your equipment to your own preferences

Greets, Hans.
I totally agree with Hans. I have a swoard 168H, a pair of indy's and my old burton race binding (10 years). I'm not able to laydown but it's all in my mind. I'm for sure not "brave" enough...
It took me some time to feel the swoard (I got it this year too). It's an easy board, but very different from my blast. Now I can do short curves, big turns and some slalom style turns.
So take your time. Before trying to laydown, just try to carve and enjoy it!
Also, I have try my indy's without RAB. It's comfortable but then you need some more muscles in your feet. The RAB system is not perfect, and I may prefer some more dynamic device, but I prefer with RAB than without.
All the best,
D.

Thanx guys !
I wasnt yet ready for the Swoard.
I've got this damage in the ankle, i think in english it's named
torn ligament, hurts after 3 Months still very much.
In the beginning i was able to do some carves but then i felt down
by a backside turn and the board hammerd 3-4 times full on the
edge, then my bravness was over !!
I think i got the 175 M, i,m 181 cm and weight 83 kg.
Can you do Slalom curves when a lot of folks is on the piste and the piste is pretty steep ?
One question: whats the ride by "bobmer" technique ?
Means bobmer technik if the snowboard-pants is full of sh!t ??
Haha.

Don't know if you can make some tight turns with the 175 since the radius of this board is somewhat bigger than the 168. But the difference isn't that big, so I don't think it's a problem. May be some other riders can say a thing about this.Boardercrime wrote:Can you do Slalom curves when a lot of folks is on the piste and the piste is pretty steep ?

The bombertechnique is a race kind of style. Can find some explanations of ridingstyles at www.bomberonline.com
