Guys,

I'll be there this Fri-Sat-Sun, let me know if any of you will be around, it would be great to do a couple of runs together.

Cheers,

Istvan

Post by mrtko » Wednesday 23 February 2005, 23:20

Hi Istvan,

as far as i see you are one of the "hardest" poster here

I´m from Villach - so not far away from Moelltaler Gletscher!
Would be really great having a session.

My only problem is that i´m on that weekend with my family on wellness
near the hungarian border!

So sorry for this time! Maybe sometime later!

Ciao

Hehe... my favourite activity: carving around beginner freestylers, to show them the pleasure of carving :-)

Let the EC community grow! (do you think the below helps? :-) )

Cheers,

István

That's good. But when I'll be really proud of my carve, i'll do the same with "Extremecarving.com" written on my back. 8)

Writing on the back

Post by István » Tuesday 1 March 2005, 14:41

I have Dainese written on my back 8) , but they can't read that out from the front, so I suggest that you rather put it on your forehead

As for the writing on the back, I would rather put something like this: 'Dear fellow skier, please do not follow me closely, because you'll get surprised when I lay it down and we'll crash.... '

Or: 'If you can read this 8O , you came to close and will crash soon....'

BTW, I've seen something very clever in Zinal: one of the riders had a little bell attached to his leg over the boot and it was ringing continuously while he was riding. Very good idea!!!! (the down-side of the thing might be that the bell can hurt you when you crash... ) Who was this cautious rider?

Cheers,

István

For the writings on you back keep it short:
' Caution ! Red boards go sideways ! '

For the bell idea, better would be if skiers (or others) going straight from behind had the bell. As soon as they tend to be irresponsible, it's better that we hear them. To avoid being hit, you just have to use a very visible board (for example a big red one ;) )

Carving

Post by István » Tuesday 1 March 2005, 17:42

I always do the turn behind them to avoid accidental crashes or just snow spraying on them. Still, I can always see the fear when they see me closing up on them....

I even enjoy ot more with skiers  I almost grab their boots while doing the turn.... they just love it

Cheers,

István
