Full-Tilt boots as hardboots for alpine boards

Post by av_dumitrascu » Tuesday 16 October 2012, 14:40

Don`t throw flames on me, but would these boots be an alternative?
Some more info on Full Tilt hardboots used with snowboards:
http://news.fulltiltboots.com/2010/01/1 ... ull-tilts/
http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/show ... ning-boots
If anyone else used them on alpine boards, please share some light with the rest of us.... I really need a pair of hardboots MP 26,5 for my alpine board, and as a rooky, I am still looking.

Thansk for inputs, `cause snow is coming ;)

Full Tilts are used quite succesfully in alpine snowboard racing.
It all depends what you look from boots and for what you plan use them

entry level for someone who is carving (not EC) with softboots and wants to go that extra mile... 1.75cm height and 80 kg weight, on titanal alpine boards....
What do you advise? 10x!

It would be possible to modify the ski boots to get the required longitudinal flex, but as pokkis said, it's probably much easier to find a used pair of Raichle / Deeluxe. It's not expensive.

And if your friend has soft boot background then softish hardboot will make all easier.
And 225's are great boots for beginners and light weight riders.

well, now the main question: anyone tried to install a BTS or ACSS system on ski boots?
Or Intech/Fintech heels, on ski boots?

would it be doable? Especially on Full Tilt Seth Morrison 2011 boots? (simply because I already have a pair)...
thanks for hints ;)

pokkis: I feel really embarassed now... Google -> image -> me fool... :wall:

I can uderstand that you have those ski-boots. But I would rather search for cheap second hand solution on e-bay than dig into these shells to adapt them to ACSS.

Imagine that we could probably help you but simple shipping two ways is probably more expensive than whole boots on e-bay. BTW: the boot seems to have no forced back wall. I'm having a feeling that making a hole in this area could possibly be a reason of eventual breakage, which would cause nothiung more than a frustration.

I definitely recommend searching for another solution.

let me get back home next week and I will post some close-up shots of the interior of the boot and the rear wall, then maybe you might have some ideas ;)
