Hi
I think someone said they were going to post an up-to-date pre-season workout
In the meantime, I have purchased a very expensive £8.99 new toy to help my pre-season work out I kept looking at it for weeks, then decided to have a go..
... much to my amazement I managed 6 chin-ups (palms facing).. can now do..2 palms facing away...you may laugh but it is progression...
...anyway, it appears my weight training is beginning to benefit me somehow , although I still look like a

Hi Redhead
A very nice and rather sleek-looking piece of equipment you have there Is the resistance some kind of in-built hydraulics ....Do you do most of your aerobic training on this:?: My next purchase is going to be a treadmill ...I'm not really a rower-type ..too much like hard work all those muscles working at the same time... I like to have some muscles at rest when I work out ....
... Do you usually do 'chin-ups' as part of your fitness routine? If so, how have they helped with snowboarding:?:
Below is the home gym progressing...besides the obvious exercises, it includes a: lat-pull down bar, preacher-curl platform and leg ext/curl...I love working out at home....soooooo convenient.....SEE... I'm even too LAZY to go to a public gym...

Yeah, there's 12 levels of hydraulic resistance and believe on 12 i'm doing like 30 rounds and i'm completely done. I'm practicing on level 6 and will my 300 pull ups and i'm ok.keepTheSport wrote:Hi Redhead

Many people says that magnetic machine is better, but i went to shop and i've tried 5 different machines and this one was the "toughest". Magnetic once have some small resistance.
Anyway rowing will not give me much big muscles, but will make them stronger and ur whole body will more tightened. It will also help me out to lose some weight. I was reading somewhere that after cross country skiing, rowing is the way to go, since you use 90% of your muscles. During exercise you feel legs, stomach and yeah arms hurt
I think big muscles are not helping a lot in snowboarding. So what that you can pull up 200kg, if with your bend legs will not last 1hour on the slope.keepTheSport wrote: ....Do you do most of your aerobic training on this:?: My next purchase is going to be a treadmill ...I'm not really a rower-type ..too much like hard work all those muscles working at the same time...
Maybe it's lame but i find stepper good tool for training your legs. So there we go, stepper and rowing for me

Hi Redhead
"...I'm practicing on level 6 and will my 300 pull ups and i'm ok..."
300 pull ups-WOW ...so how far do you get for 300 pulls at level 6 ...is your row machine oil or air hydraulics I'm never very clear on the best application for each....but I do have a trolley-jack that uses air...
"...So what that you can pull up 200kg..."
Yes,I do agree ... I'm not really looking to 'power lift' ....although my main aim is to build muscle, I do at times switch to a lighter weight where some aerobic capacity is included, which will be increased nearer SNOWFALL time ..
..Having said all that, there is something rather addictive about chucking on another 10kg and straining to get your first lift at the new weight ...how sad can one get ...oh the simple things in life...just give me a plate of cast iron any day

Before i buy something i do some research and professionals says that 32-35 pulls a minute is very good result. I'm doing 27, so still have practice morekeepTheSport wrote:Hi Redhead

Oil or air hydraulic? I really don't know. Who cared, if it breaks, i will just go shopping one more time. Yeah Norway, nice country to live in
Anyways, hydraulic are cheaper than magnetic once, but i find them not so realistic. Hydraulic one reminds me more of real rowing
I have exactly the same
That's really nice magnetic one, which behaves like real rowing, but damn big. And whatever is big must be also expensive
Normal magnetic one
LOL rowing
