Hello everybody from Madrid

Bonjour a toute la communauté ExtremeCarving!

Après quelques années suivant ce forum passionnant, je voulais enfin me présenter, car c'est le moment !

Je m'appelle Alexandre, 36 ans, natif de Biarritz et je vis depuis 18 ans à Madrid. J'ai de la famille en France dans les Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Je ride principalement à Madrid en indoor puis dans 3 stations madrilènes (petites mais super) a 1h de chez moi ainsi que quelques jours dans les pyrénées (surtout Candanchu, Astun, Cauterets et Peyragudes).

J'ai commencé le snowboard il y a six ans en autodidacte et j'ai adoré direct. La première année, je me suis fait 30 jours avec tout type de neige. Pendant "l'apprentissage" lent et chaotique j'ai regardé pas mal de vidéos pour avoir des références, surtout des vidéos japonnais de snowsurf (amusants, car ils profitent dans tous les sens de la piste, jouent avec le terrain et prennent leur pied) peut être pas très académiques mais relaxants et différents.
Plus tard, en farfouillant sur Internet, je suis tombé sur les vidéos de Seb Henri faisant des salades de fruits et des courbes d'alien sur YouTube ainsi que le site ExtremeCarving.com et là, j'ai trouvé LE style qui m'a fait rêver jusqu'à maintenant.
Il y a deux ans lors de vacances a Peyragudes, j'ai eu la chance énorme de croiser et connaître Seb, qui m'a permis d'assister à un petit bout de classe et depuis lors, j'ai encore plus accroché en voyant sur place sa manière d'enseigner et de motiver. Donc j'ai assisté au stage qu'il proposait en Mars2023 à Peyragudes(Ensuite, j'ai pu rider 4j de plus avec Eric!!merciiiiiii ça a été génial Eric de faire un rab d'EC!!!) puis au dernier stage, il y a deux semaines en Andorre, pour commencer le Backside(un rêve incroyable).


Tout ce paragraphe pour vous dire que vous avez un nouvel adepte (accro ) de l'EC en Espagne. J'espère continuer à progresser longtemps avec Seb pour pouvoir faire de beaux virages couchés jamais vus auparavant a Madrid, qui vont changer et diversifier le paysage local! Ça, c'est sûr et certain!

Quant au matos, je ride en softs(Flow nx2 et boots Northwave prophecy) sur une petite Ride warpig148 pour l'indoor.J'aimerais bien essayer en hardboots aussi un de ces jours. Pour les stages, je les suis sur la dual168 mais je n'ai pas encore eu la chance de pouvoir m'en payer une; ça arrivera, car cette planche est parfaite. Par contre j'ai pris le kit tooltonic et j'ai du polyglut

Enfin, peu à peu, j'espère progresser dans tous les sens de la pratique, continuer a lire vos conseils et travailler dur cet hiver/été pour vous rencontrer plus tôt que tard a Zinal(peut-être l'ECS2025 ?). Joyeuse et carveuse année 2024 pour tous!

Hello to the entire ExtremeCarving community!

After a few years following this exciting forum, I finally wanted to introduce myself, because now is the time!

My name is Alexandre, 36 years old, native of Biarritz and I have lived in Madrid for 18 years. I have family in France in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. I ride mainly in Madrid indoors then in 3 Madrid stations (small but great) 1 hour from home as well as a few days in the Pyrenees (especially Candanchu, Astun, Cauterets and Peyragudes).

I started snowboarding six years ago as an autodidact and I loved it straight away. The first year, I had 30 days with all types of snow. During the slow and chaotic "learning" I watched a lot of videos to have references, especially Japanese snowsurfing videos (fun, because they take advantage of the slope in all directions, play with the terrain and have fun ) maybe not very academic but relaxing and different.
Later, while browsing the Internet, I came across videos of Seb Henri making fruit salads and alien curves on YouTube as well as the site ExtremeCarving.com and there, I found THE style that appealed to me. a dream until now.
Two years ago during a vacation in Peyragudes, I had the enormous chance to meet and know Seb, who allowed me to attend a little class and since then, I have been even more hooked by seeing on the spot his way of teaching and motivating. So I attended the course he was offering in March 2023 in Peyragudes (Then, I was able to ride 4 more days with Eric!! thank youiiiiii it was great Eric to do an EC refresh!!!) then at the last one internship, two weeks ago in Andorra, to start the Backside (an incredible dream).

All this paragraph to tell you that you have a new follower (addicted:silly:) of EC in Spain. I hope to continue to progress for a long time with Seb to be able to do beautiful lying turns never seen before in Madrid, which will change and diversify the local landscape! That’s sure and certain!

As for the gear, I ride in softs (Flow nx2 and Northwave prophecy boots) on a small Ride warpig148 for indoor use. I would like to try hardboots too one of these days. For internships, I follow them on dual168 but I haven't yet had the chance to be able to afford one; It will happen, because this board is perfect. Finally, little by little, I hope to progress in all directions of practice, continue reading your advice and work hard this winter/summer to meet you sooner rather than later in Zinal (perhaps ECS2025?). Happy and happy new year 2024 for everyone!
