Comme les précédentes années, je recommande les camps de Sébastien! Instructeur Swoard-EC, il est un excellent pédagogue, très patient. Il faut dire qu'il est prof de sport!

Durant les événements Swoard, nous donnons des conseils et des petits cours gratuits. Mais rien ne vaut les stages et la prise en main sur plusieurs jours.

Attention: je déconseille les moufles très glissants dans les pentes fortes, pas seulement pour des questions de sécurité. J'ai observé des riders avec des systèmes très glissants qui prennent techniquement de mauvais plis (qu'il sera ensuite difficile de corriger), et s'équilibrent mal dans les virages. On voit ensuite des gestes parasites en fin de virages, ou des fesses en l'air. Moi je privilégie un bon contrôle et la liberté des gants que je protège comme expliqué ici.

Pour les boards démo, il faut les réserver avant auprès de Sébastien.

As in previous years, I recommend Sébastien's camps! As Swoard-EC instructor, he is an excellent teacher, very patient. It must be said that he is a sports teacher!

During the Swoard events, we give advice and small free lessons. But nothing beats the camps and the training over several days.

Warning: I would advise against very slippery mittens on steep slopes, not just for safety reasons. I've seen riders with very slippery systems who technically take bad folds (which will then be difficult to correct), and balance badly in turns. You'll then see parasite movements at the end of the turns, or butts in the air. Personally, I prefer good control and the freedom of gloves, which I protect as shown here.

For the demo boards, you have to book them beforehand with Sébastien.

I'm coming to Zinal for the first time on 27th-29th of Jan. I've been riding hardboots for 15 years now but I never did the EC.

What would you recommend for the first-timer? Join the camp with Seb or just come to the main event and get to know the field? Does the camp implies you miss the programme of the ExtremeCarving Session?

Hello,

At the ExtremeCarving Session, you will meet most Swoard EC instructors (except Seb who can't come this year). You can have a nice initiation to EC during the free lessons (of 2 hours). Later, if you like it, you could progress in the camps and the paying lessons.
During the event, you also can meet more people, all levels, and share your experiences. You also can test all models (with all sizes and flexes), so you find what suits you the best.
In Zinal, there are blue, red and black slopes, for all levels. The stand, as well as the dinner on Saturday evening, give opportunities to meet other riders.

In conclusion, the event is great for the first-timers! See you very soon
