Board test
Yeah it´s a big area. Five years since last time. I remember some really nice wide and wellgroomed slopes thou. And we had a couple of really nice POW-days in Falzarego. Great if you unlocked some of the Cortina secrets Jax.
How is the Fedare slope? I never went there. Looks like a place not so crowded?
Faloria is prob very crowded on a weekend?

Hi that place it's not called Fedare but Cinque Torri, Fedare(that is known as Averau, the name of the right side mountain, the left one is the Nuvolau), is the baita with the best panorama and food you can get in Cortina. My preffered place, the one I'll suggest you for testing new gear. There are two things, the first is that the lift it's probably the oldest in Italy, it's one seat lift.
The second is that the slopes are not so steep, only one is the so called muro delle capre, but it's 200/300 meters long.
To get steepest slopes we have somewere else.
It depends from what you need.
Let me know. So I can think about it.

Cinque Torri, it's not so crowded.
Faloria and Tofana are the crowded ones.
There are other ski areas in Cortina, Ra'Valles, Cristallo, Cinque Torri, Col Gallina, Falzarego.
Cinque Torri, Col Gallina, Falzarego are more or less connected each other.
Cristallo is on the other side of the road of Faloria and as nice sunny slopes.
Falzarego, is 15 minutes from the center which is the farest.

Well I´m looking for interesting terrain more than steep slopes. Bankings, natural halfpipes, shutes with nice grooming or POW;-) Thats interresting and a lot more creative for the riding I think than slopes going straight down the fall line.

HI!
Here we are, i live close to Cortina it wiill be a pleasure to met you!
since tere aren't so much ski resources i woul say that you can try every day a new one!
I prefer Ra Valles and its Forcella Rossa,: you can ski from 2800mt to 1100mt passing through a lot of differnt ski situations! Then i like very much Faloria and Cristallo that are connected with lot of different pistes (good to test boards), and not so crowded, . Finally5 towers that are very good for fresh snow but have few pistes and a very old lifter.
Fortunately this year a lot of snow has fallen, for sure you'll have great time! Please keep me informed of your travel, we can organize something also with Mike Kiteski school.
Bye

Hi Alberto, great photoes on the Forcella and the Franchetti, but Mats
asked for:
"Well I´m looking for interesting terrain more than steep slopes. Bankings, natural halfpipes, shutes with nice grooming or POW;-) Thats interresting and a lot more creative for the riding I think than slopes going straight down the fall line."
And shurely the Forcella and the Franchetti are two of the steepest in Cortina.
Cristallo is wonderfoul, but the Faloria could be very crowded.

Anyway: 5 Towers have beautiful slopes and lot of freeride!
When you take the 17mins long lift (2000 mt long) it seems to be in the '50!!

Slow lifts rock!
Hey it sounds just like my favourite place in Aspen, the Tiehack side of Buttermilk. Really slow lift which means that we who carve have the slopes for ourselves Looking forward to go there.
I´m so stoked. Have only 6 days on snow this season due to baby daughter. Normaly about 20 days by now.
