Ma la doppia boccolatura sulle tavola nella mano sinistra di Sigi, sulla SG Race e Fullrace a che servirà? Per una piastra ammortizzante?

very interesting

Post by nils » Sunday 6 April 2008, 21:00

i find it very interesting to see that the nose of the race boards has followed the trend we launched in 2002 (not to mention the 8 years of protos that were almost identical in shape )... When you compare the race boards from all brands in 2002 and now, you can see the nose shape is looking much closer to the Extremecarver nose !! Maybe we should work on a race model....175/180 with 20,5 cm width.... lets see :)

a good shape is always a compromise: make the nose turn but not too much etc etc... same applies for good snows/bad snows reaction of the nose..
the best shape works in the most situations, or is the best for one particular condition...depends on what the shaper wants...

As far as I know, a very "low" and small tip gives the advantage of having LESS MASS that can move while riding: such LESS MASS can guarantee more stability.
That's why the "vertex" tip has been preferred to the rounded one for a long time.
And the swoard tip, to my eyes, gives a very low mass that can move while carvng guarantee a very good stability.
