Alpine TOMAHAWK - SOLD OUT

Post by RicHard » Monday 28 August 2006, 23:21

Tomahawk Snowboard
- Custom made / hand made by Sigi Renzler at the end of february 2006.
- Used just three times (almost brand-new, as you can see in the pictures).

Image

Length: 170cm; Sidecut radius: 12m; Waist Width: 21cm; Stance: 46-48cm (I should unmount the bindings to verify it); Color: Orange; Edges: 97°.

Wide waist let you choose lower binding angles.
12m sidecut radius is a good compromise between SL and GS tracks (for extreme carving too).
Shape of the tip makes you have more effective edge in the same length.

It's in perfect conditions (it has been used just three times with a lot of care).

I'm selling it since I ordered it with a stance but after

- the purchasing of UPZ boots (very stiff) and
- the study of new technique that requires much more mobility on the board,

the stance is too wide for my height (170cm) and I'm almost "stuck" in the centered position (keep in mind that, to improve flexibility, the board has only 4 holes for each binding). :-(

500 EURo (about 638 USD)

Please, feel free to send your offers to proto163@hotmail.com.

And... one picture while in use  :

Ric,

the board is really nice. The stance doesn't seem to be too wide for you if you tried boots with modified springs and lower angles like 51f 45r. I am 187 and currently using 53cm on my swoard 175. Also f2 bindings would help increase flexibility

Think about it!!

Thanks a lot for your point of view, Francesco, but I swear that I feel absolutely "stuck" in my position. I have to admit that with "extremecarving like" technique (also with my old one) everything was perfect with my stance (that's why I ordered such board with such stance) but with the new things I learnt, I need a very narrower stance...
:-\
And.. I had to improve, because I want to be in full control even on very icy snow on black runs and with my old technique I wasn't. I have to be honest with myself and, after 12 years of riding, I wanted to improve.
I switched to the old technique and the board was reacting properly but I want to evolve... so...
;-)

P.S.: I had F2 bindings but I finally moved to Bomber ones...
;-)

That's funny... I look at my TD2 and I think I love my F2 Race Tit. It would be interesting to talk to you about the new technique, as I thought you were a friend of Georg from Scorpion Racing...

I broke the F2 bindings in Madonna di Campiglio last winter and I was shocked (fortunately, no injuries).
Then I bought the TD2 (much more solid, to me).
I love the smaller base of the TD2 that should allow the board flex better...

Anyway... you're right: I had the new technique tips from Georg...
;-)
And he push me to try another technique to carve. And... after watching him... I have to try!
