Re: Oppdal CarvingCamp 2012

Hi everybody, If I understand the offer correctly, one single room with one person from March 11 till March 16 will cost NOK 204, provided you buy a skipass for the same period. That is a real good offer. The hotel is in walking distance to the Hovden skilift, the most spectacular Oppdal slope, and ...

Re: How to make skiers ride safer?

The answer to my questions is: If you stop, even at the edge of an empty slope, within a minute or so, skiers come out from nowere, turning exactly in front of you and spraying you full of snow, even if they have the whole slope at their disposal. Therefore, there is almost impossible to avoid the s...

Re: SWOARD ECS 2012 > registrations and details

I have checked with the tourist office and Claudia (Veras) told me that the office does not have an internet payment service. Therefore, I bought my packages in the traditional way, e-mail+ phone, as I won't give credit card details on mail.

Re: Carve RS/Intec

Carve RS is softer and more flexible than the Titanium but it should be no problem with the combination.

Re: How to make skiers ride safer?

This is a never ending problem and discussion. It is the same with car drivers and bicyclists. To understand the problem properly you have to be both a snowoarder and skier. In this case it was an unexperienced skier. In many resorts, there are skiers that think they are good and run like DidierCuch...

Re: DUAL : Hard or soft boots ?

Patrice, yes we are different. I bought the Dual, basically for use in powder. For carving on slopes, I just love the Extremecarver. My problem with carving with the Dual on groomed slopes is that I need lower angles than on the Extremarver to put it on edge. Therefore, I think the lateral stiffness...

Re: DUAL : Hard or soft boots ?

To pour some cold water in the blood. I have not used the Dual with soft boots. However, I have used it with my Northwaves Point 900 and F2 Race Titaniums as well as with Raichle 323 with soft spring modification and F2 Carve, in powder, on soft groomed slopes and on harder surface. Unfortunately, I...

Re: Oppdal CarvingCamp 2012

In Oppdal there are both steep and flat slopes. So there are a lot of opportunities to practice safe falling from all riding positions. Perhaps we should spend half a day's session on safe falling and sliding. Especially sliding down Hovden might be spectacular. What do yo say, Pokkis?

Re: Setting an cuff's shoes for effective EC driving

The whole idea of adjusting cuffs is to compensate for bowed legs (towards inside or outside) so the adjustments make the body weight evenly distributed on the whole feet in full balance. Therefore, a) is the right for normal build legs and a) should be the end result after cuff adjustments for irre...

Yomaha and zbird sum this discussion up. (1) style and technique are different things. We need different techniques for different snow conditions and purposes executed with our personal styles and (2) it is all about having fun.

Re: Plates... Naked truth :-)

I have no experience with plates at all, but after reading the discussion and description of plates it seems that the wole idea is to make riding easier under some conditions. However, adding one more (expensive) gadget appears to make it more complicated. The trend for all successful innovations is...
