North Wave boots
I would definitely be interested to buy a pair 27.5. You could contact med back on this thread or directly via a private message. Certainly, the price would be nice to know.

tommaso2k, Swix Fiberlene is a sort of paper where the fibres don't get off and stick to the base as an ordinary handtowel paper will do. Swix is the brand (same brand as the Swix board/skiwax). Fiberlene is the sort of tissue. Maybe other wax brands also have the same kind of tissue but I only know...

Base preparation and waxing
Personally I do not understand why the wax should be structured when the base is not. Usually the idea behind structuring the base is to have some air between the base and the snow so it should not suck. In that case brushing the wax makes sense by removing excess wax and bringing back the base stru...

Board selection
Hi, To make your confusion complete, based on the information you gave and the SWOARD matrix, 168 M should be the right board. I use a 168 H myself, am 178 high, weigh 78 kg and boot length is abt 30 cm (size 27.5). 168 H was recommended by SWOARD guys. Since you have the same heigth, same boot size...

Thanks
Jaques, Patrice, Nils and all the other participants of the EC 04 session in Zinal. Thanks for a wonderful time there. The people, slopes, snow conditions, and weather were marvellous. Besides this, seeing what steep slopes really are and how the EC is done in practice together with the instructions...

Chance to learn
Nice with all those carvers. Still as an unexperienced EC carver, I hope there will be some time for demonstration and learning from the masters of EC, J & P, so we know what to improve in our technique. Look forwards to meeting you all.

Zinal: Lift passes and car rental
Hi Nils, Pokkis, Paula and I arrive at Jan 29 and leave Feb 3. Do you know if it will be possible to have a reduced price (do not expect 10 CHF) on lift passes for Friday Jan 30 and Tuesday Feb 3 also? We also plan to rent a car in Geneva as it easier to carry all the stuff. Does anybody know of a g...

Hi Rob, Thanks again. I think we will keep our diet as a secret for a while (if it is a secret). However, in this city we are so lucky to have the forests with our local ski slopes just outside our doorsteps. As I said, 15 minutes going from home to standing at the slopes with board or skis on my fe...

Injuries
A couple of days ago I hurt my left middle finger a little bit and also the right shoulder, but fortunately not serious this time. It happened when I was going at a very moderate speed on a steep, very narrow and icy slope (with only artificial snow) in the wood. My intention was to make a slow heel...

Boot modifications
Hi,
I have read the interesting discussions on springs and boot modification. Late season this year I bought a pair of UPS RVS boots. Does anybody have experience with these boots and how to best set and adjust them?

Toeside turns
I have experienced the same problems, both for toeside and heelside turns, especially when it's steep and also when I was beginning to learn to carve. The problem, I was told by friends and by my own experience, was too much weight on the back foot. This again is a result of fear which results in mo...

Gloves and protectors
Last year I bought a pair of inline protectors to wear outside my gloves. Actually, I had to buy a whole set with knee and elbow protectors as well, but the price was almost the same as only one pair of wrist protectors. The brand was Crazy Creek or something like that. I bought the largest ones. Th...
