Sweet advice there wurm. I guess we can look into one of these two options as home base and give the swoards a test drive in Zinal for a day or two. If we like, then we can see what the options are from there on in.

BTW: in Serfaus you can rent alpine gear (F2) too.
The thought was that it is big enough to carry a dutch kiddies class. Serfaus is also an option, I see...

Thanks for the offer. I'm really stuck to the 175XH with my dimensions/weight. My wife will fit a 168M with her dimensions/weight, but I actually need to get her carving on a normal board first. It sounds as if the EC or dual is a better start for carving than the radical race boards, so that would ...

Just for the record, Jennewein (sufers paradise) in St. Anton does alpine rental. They also stock Pogo. So that remains an option. Renting an alpine board is more for my wife, since she wants to go from soft to hard boots.

I would love to keep my wife out of the loop on this one, but that is not possible, since she also wants a swoard! Thanks for the tips.

Resorts with EC possibilities and Dutch kids class

Hi all, Planning a trip to experience EC for the first time, we want to go to Zinal, but their ski school does not have a dedicated Dutch children's class. People with children will know that I might as well go snowboarding in Rome if the kid is not happy. A Dutch class is thus imperative to give me...

OK, the resort sounds good, but only limited suitability for kids with minor European languages. The ski school has a Dutch instructor, but it is 92 euros for a 1.5 hour lesson private lesson for the little one. That is rather steep. I'll have to abandon Zinal as resort for now. Another thread follo...

Hi Guys, Thanks for the tips so far. The questions were asked in a general manner, since I think more people might be interested in this info. Some explanations for these questions from my perspective. My wife will be joining me for a test drive of a swoard. She can board OK. Will happily do French ...

Zinal resort info

Maybe one for a sticky/FAQ Hi all, some questions about Zinal. 1: Are there as many pull lifts as I've seen on one skimap? 2: Except for being the place for EC, is it snowboard friendly, will less experienced boarders also feel comfortable? 3: How good is the off-piste? 4: Which runs are used for EC...

Are soft boot bindings adequate for off piste?

First post on the forum! Hope all had a good ECS. We were just in St Anton for a week with nine guys. In the space of a week we broke 7 soft boot bindings. I only spent half a day riding on soft boots breaking 2 bindings and spending more time in the Rendl gondola than on the powder. The guys at the...
