Ugly pictures? No problem!
I hope you don't mind if I post a skiing pic, but in 1984 I hadn't even heard about snowboarding.

By the way, I still have pictures of me skiing in 1965 (no typing error) - but those are not so ugly - neon colours had not yet been invented at that time!

Heute hätte ich auch nicht gekonnt, wegen familiärer Verpflichtungen, und zum Fahren wär's auch nicht lustig gewesen.
Aber ab Mitte der Woche sollten durch den Neuschnee sehr gute Bedingungen sein (lechz, händespuck, hufscharr)

at least you've got the Carpatian mountains. What I've got at home is only this short and narrow slope, and there aren't many good days each winter.

But it's better than nothing, even if it's crowded with skiers.
