I totally agree with Patrice. In general, bad equipment doesot make you a better athlete. It is the other way round. If you are learning you need all the help from the equipment that yoy can get. That goes for snowboarding, skiing, windsurfing (the sports that I do and have learned from scratch even...

Eaglefly has a point. If you go by car, there is no problem filling it with all kind of equipment, just in case. I do the same. However, I bring different skies and ski boots together with two Swoards with different flexes and hard boots. When going by plane it is different. Then weight and number o...

Gunnar, If you consider a wider board, why not a Swoard? I think the 168 H will be perfect for you and for EC and general carving Swoard is performing better than the alternatives you mention. PS Could you take a picture of the upper slopes of Hemsedal and post it on the forum just to make the other...

That's why you, I and many other riders here, especially love to ride after Easter: empty slopes! :D But this year is particularly frustrating: winter conditions while many good resorts are already closed. :-( Exactly :D :!: Yesterday, bright sunshine, -2, hero snow on some of the best slopes. For ...

My understanding is that Titanal dampen the vibrations, making the board calmer (and less lively) when the surface is not so good. As I understand that is why titanal is preferred in raceboards due to the dual racing format where the course goes worse and worse during the competition and the objecti...

Of course economy matters. If not there would hardly be alpine resorts at all. In contrast to many other sports arenas they are highly commercial. About opening and closing for the season it is based on people's mentality. For some reason many want to start to ski (and board) early even in under-opt...

Hi everybody, This seems to be a war between religions that destroyed Europe in the past history and now is destroying other countries and international relations too. Why so angry :?: It is only a small sport and a hobby for most of us, so be positive. It is similar to beein against Super G skis be...

I understand the film will be 3 minutes? Its a long way to go to Geneva or Paris or another central Euopean town to watch a fim of 3 minutes length, even if the pictures are extraordinary. Will then Carved be part of a lengthier film of will it be shown together with other action films? It was film ...

Anders, My Swoards are 168, both the M and H. With respect to good carving places in Southern Norway there could be a lot. The problem, as with all good skiing resorts is the crowds and speedy skiers, especially in the week-ends. I mostly carve in our local slopes in Oslo, http://www.tryvann.no . Ho...

Anders, Welcome. As far as I have read there should be a lot of small slopes in Southern part of Sweden (Skåne), but there might not be so much snow. In order to increase your time on snow you might spend some more time and money during the winter to go to the Swedish or Norwegian resorts. Abt.your ...

Viviane, You are correct. Almost vertical 90° and good grip = much bend and sharp turn. Skywalker has explained it very good. Then the radius of curve can be moderated by the degree of pressure on the edges but then we are talking about more advanced techniques. starikashka Yes, the bending of the b...

Great pictures, Vahur :clap2: As usual, my own camera stayed in the cabin, but when you are around it does not matter. To all the others that were not there, Vangslia is like a big wave, wide and almost empty, not as steep as Zinal but steep enough. The steepest sections of Hovden have Zinal qualiti...

Hi,
In my experience, the more you tilt the board vertically, the more it bends and the sharper the turn. Flat board, little bend and a wide turn, so it is not only the steepness of the slope but also how you use your legs to tilt the board.
