Les Deux-Alpes

The three Swiss glaciers you mention are open! The Glacier3000 opened last week-end: despite a hot summer, there is enough snow! In the French Alps, Les Deux-Alpes opens this week-end with the "Mondial du snowboard"! The Swoard team will be there with Swoards for people interested in testing them! D...

Re: Bomber turns?

I take exception to having turns that are not "EC" in nature, referred to as "Bomber" turns. And especially if you want to call those turns 'banana' turns. ;-) You have read the thread too quickly. I have used the term "banana turns" for racing. The "Bomber" style doesn't exclude "closed" turns! Ra...

Re: Forces and edge pressure

Wow! This thread is really very good! Harald, your last post is excellent... You understand the EC technique probably better than me. ;-) I'm only an empirical rider. :) I did not find big difference from basic EC and cross under technique except difference in angulations and prerotation. Indeed I t...

Re: Ah, ok

Is that right? Yes, nice description kjl :!: I have another question, in this case. If you push to increase pressure during the first half of the turn (when your body is further downhill than your board), are you in fact accelerating yourself even faster downhill, and does that mean you have even m...

Excellent reply, Harald! You have all understood! :D So the trick is to change edge early, extend the legs and lying the body flat in the beginning of the turn and then let the board do the rest of the job and raise the body when going out of the turn. This is well illustrated in the movies. However...

AF700 or AF600

Probably the AF600 is better for extremecarving because it is softer. We will try this model intensively this season. Above all, the spring system is very important!

Re: EC Equipment

There were posts on this forum that some boards are close to EC, someone mentioned that Burton FP 178 is good. I was thinking if there are other such examples... I had mentionned once (or twice) the Nidecker Proto, that I liked. But there is no comparison with the Swoard! Except the price! So that ...
