Good lord
Very cool. Good lord - what is that: a 15 cm stance width? Crazy. As well as skwalling through the bordercross course and the front flips - I didn't know you could do that on a skwal.

I finally got to put it into practice.
So, I rode on Saturday and Sunday, and finally put the push-pull turn to practice. Saturday was very cold and fast, and some might say a touch of ice, and Sunday saw perfect hero snow in the morning and almost spring like conditions in the midday, followed by refrozen spring-like conditions in the a...

Cleaners
I apply cleaner on my base before every wax. I notice I get a lot of dirt each time I wax (every 2 riding days). I used to spray the cleaner on the board, wait a few minutes, and then rub it off with a paper towel. I think maybe this way doesn't really pull that much dirt out. Now I spray the cleane...

I have some pressurepoints in my AF 700. The most pressurepoints I have is the area with my little toes. Or is it a solution to take away some of the inside material of the standardliners? Any recommendations on this? Will Thermoliners take away this problem? Hi, Hans. Yeah, the liners mold themsel...

thermos!
Riding/wearing hardboots is not because you like your boots (the most I like about my hardboots is to take them off at the end of a good carvingday), but like carving. I never heard a guy saying that he liked the fit of his hardboots. Cheers, Hans. By the way, I wear the 700's as well for four year...

Glue pads to outside of liner...
You can get some various shapes of boot-fitting pads from here: http://www.tognar.com/boot.html and stick them to the outside of the liners before you bake them in the oven. In fact, they have one called "Narrowing Pads" which supposedly are made just for situations like yours. That way you can stil...

Re: Yes...
Sometimes it's better to go out and ride than only to talk about how things might be. Hah, of course you are right, but what can I do? There is no snow anywhere near California, so I have to resort to pedantic physics musings on these forums to avoid going insane! So every minute that I'm not at wo...

first half pressure
So it seems to me, a "bomber" or race style turn will always allow you to build pressure durring the first half of the turn more gradually. Or am I missing something? I think that's right: bomber turns let you build pressure more gradually during the first half of the turn. I think, however, that t...

shoulders facing forward
Interesting that you bring up that style (shoulders facing the nose at all times)... I went to a race camp this summer and our coaches (including Lisa Kosglow, from the US Olympic team) taught us the same thing. In fact, I was rotating my toeside turns and she told me to stop doing it, and it improv...

Re: Bomber turns?
I take exception to having turns that are not "EC" in nature, referred to as "Bomber" turns. And especially if you want to call those turns 'banana' turns. I have ridden with many of the riders that post on BomberOnline, and can assure you that "EC" turns are not the only type that are 'closed'. I ...

You can make a test on your next riding day: On a piste with a lot of uneveness, try to ride with your knees more or less bent and test by yourself the position that makes you feel the piste more flat. For myself, the lower I am, the smoother the piste seems to me. Yes, I keep my knees bent for thi...

Re: Forces and edge pressure
If bomber carves mean ordinary carving in an upright position, it sounds for me as bad technique. I'm not sure whare you mean by "ordinary carving in an upright position". The main difference you can see is in the body position in the "most laid out" section of the carve. In EC carves, at the most ...

Thanks!
Thanks so much for the replies, Harald, Patrice. Yes, I think I get the idea now. The only thing left now is to actually get out and do it! Unfortunately, no snow as of yet. I'm jealous, Eduard. Where is there snow? I need to snowboard so badly my heartrate increases noticeably (I can feel it speed ...

Ah, ok
So I think maybe I had it wrong before, but now I have it. Tell me if this is right: A carved turn has 2 halves, split by the point when the board is pointing down the fall line. In bomber carves you have a compressed body all throughout, and you have very little pressure on the edge during the firs...

Thanks!
I enjoyed them very much, especially the part in the first movie where 4 or 5 boarders make hard banked turns with the sun in the background.
