I wouldn't speak of an alpine rebirth, but of a carving/racing rebirth. Rec alpine boarding is dying out. It's experts only now. That "may" be true in your part of the world but in Japan harbooters are fairly common and getting more every year it seems, I`ve rarely seen a race track but I`ve seen t...

Bloody Powder snow  I bought myself my first carving set-up at the start of this season with the aim of learning to carve trenchs and possibly try an EC turn or two. Well..... Japan has had nothing but powder flowing from the heavens all season. I have spent a total of 14 days on the snow and ...

YEAH 8) Those videos are great. So cool that the board is so multi-functional. Love the nose rocker/shape, that`s gotta be good for powder. Looks like that board rocks! Anyone else got plans to add one to the quiver? Or the Pogo Longboard? I`m pretty sure I`ll be picking one up, when I do I`ll post ...

Thanks. Otter(ess) I have zero French so thank you so much for your English. I`m very happy to hear from a Dupraz rider. I have also seen that Pogo has a longboard that looks very similar but has a HUGE price tag on it. What sort of conditions have you ridden it in? Sorry to ask you here and not in ...

DUPRAZ?
Who has ridden the D1 from Dupraz? What did you think of it? Is it good in hardboots? Can you carve it on the groomers? Does it handle some speed? Desperately in need of a powder board, this season in Japan has just been powder heaven! (yes, I used the search function and found a few threads but was...

UPDATE- So I`ve had six days on the snow so far this season and it has been nothing but knee to chest deep powder everyday. So much for learning to EC huh. I`ve had a couple of runs on the hardboots just to try it out though and I`m impressed with the leverage difference after using softies. The Rad...

Black Pro hardboots?
Black Pro hardboots? Anyone ever heard of them or had any expirence with them? I found a pair in my size really cheap and would like to know if they are any good before buying. Old model, M18 Ferga?, but unused. Failing that I`ll bid on a pair of Head stratos pro`s from 2000-01, also old but unused....

Thanks again guys. I too have been looking on the Yahoo japan auction site. If I could find one wide enough I`d buy it, but this is the land of tiny-small feet! Alpine seems to be more popular here than it is is most other places, must be all that perfect snow huh? I have been looking around on the ...

Light wind kiteboards are the same shape as a snowboard. Nearly. You only need fins when you don`t use your rail properly. With a little bit of practise no fin is much better, faster. A few people have used snowboards for kitesurfing too. The only problem is that they don`t float very well! Apart fr...
