Radius and EC
drcr, As I understand it (correct me if I am wrong) as you approach vertical with the board the radius of the turn actually changes. So elegantly put, the radius of the actual turn on the snow is a function of your orignal board sidecut radius and angle with which you have it in relation to the snow...

Order time is true...
I forgot about that order wait thing... I ordered mine at the beginning of the season and barely had it for a last few days a year ago. Prior or Donek are definately options I really like Prior boards but they were more expensive to get the width and radius I wanted. I have been to the shop in BC an...

Don't forget about Coiler.
I got an 177 23cm waist all mountain 13m radius board last season. Not a standard board, but one that is listed in the custom section. Once I got use to it I loved every minute on it. I am quite a bit heavier then you though so that board may be a bit much. Shallower means bigger radius. Alot (most)...

My Settings for EC
lobella I rode my first ECarves earlier this season but after I had gone I noticed that my setup was not exactly like they say. I ride Burton Fire boots which are pretty darn stiff on a Burton Factory Prime 167. When I was trying to center my bindings, Bomber TD SI's (also stiff) I was given the cho...

Burton Factory Prime
I can honestly say that I am more then happy with how my 2001 FP 167 (black top sheet) has held up. I am not a small guy at 6' 1" 230 and I have not had any problems with the board. I would have liked to go longer but, the board has held together even with all the abuse that I have given it with min...

Thanks for the Great Site!
I just want to say thanks to Jacques, Patrice, nils, and the rest of the guys on this forum who have contributed to the great discussions. I have been coming to your site since the beginning and taking as much information as I could and trying it out in order to get lower :D . I finally broke down a...

Thanks
Thanks guys this is about what I was guessing the replies would be like but I had to check. From the sound of it, it would be better to spend a bit more and make sure I get a board with a larger radius then just sticking to the standard designs. I was looking at getting a used Prior to try and keep ...

Board Radius and ECarving
I was wondering how important the radius is in learning how to E-carve. I have a chance to get a new board for Xmas and I was wondering if I get a board with a smaller radius how much more difficult this will make learning/executing the E-carve technique. I am a big fan of this technique and hope to...

Good luck....
I live in Tacoma, WA (just south of Seattle) and I had a hard time just finding equipment to buy. I personally don't know any retail stores in WA that carry any alpine gear on a regular basis (been looking) and even before I bought my stuff I could not find any place to rent just to try it out, so.....
