I "broke my ankle" in a similar manner by augering the nose of my board into breakable crust.

Decelerating my 62kgs blew the boot apart and also fractured my ankle. In my case at least, the boot wasn't strong enough to prevent injury, but was just strong enough to ensure it.

Ok, the "ultimate" doesn't sound suitable. Lighter is always good, but that looks a bit too stripped down. Good questions.

"Backland Ultimate" - holy ****, those are the boots for me... I need to ensure I can buy some springs first though, before buying those and some none-Intec bindings.

I like the idea of a modern boot, but I'm going to need something like the things here.
