Great video
I think that Egyptian style *really* works on the toeside. I did it today with my hands down at my sides as well. And then I looked over my shoulder. But the really great breakthrough came when I practiced hip turns on my skateboard. You can really get the acceleration feel that way. The skateboard ...

Thanks Peter
Great tips, Peter. Thanks so much. Because of the new super hip turn my backside improved immediately. But my toeside is still my weak side. When you ride with Rob, you tend to get very motivated to improve. Rob rides deceptively smoothly. He can lay it down at very low speeds because he generates s...

Hi, Peter: You're doing a lot of great explaining. I find it very helpful. I should say from the start that I've just spent three days boarding with e-carve maestro, Rob Crobar. Nearly every run, I saw him fully lay out 8 to 12 e-carves in a row on a variety of terrain. (You can tell a true e-carver...

Thanks for a great post, Peter. Any tidbits on hand positions or exercises we can do?

I like that response Jacques
As usual Jacques, you impress me with your common sense responses. I realize that unlike other snowboard techniques, the EC method depends largely on the edges of the board. Most boards are not made for this, so most riders don't wax and sharpen the edges of the their board, unless they ride in icy ...

Catek's new binding
They have a sexy new Intec redesign but the small base seems to be unchanged.

What changes would be required to make these Cateks suitable for e-carve?

Board graphics
I kind of like black topsheets(timeless, enduring and mysterious) but I also like the natural wood look of your Wild Ducks. The natural look (top secret e-carve technology hidden underneath)has that oneness with nature feel to it. I'm sure nobody else prefers the natural wood look, right?

Praise be to the Teachers of the World
This is my site of choice when it comes to learning about the kind of snowboarding I am interested in. I no longer have much time for the rantings and egomaniacal outbursts of some on Bomber. (Yes, there are some very helpful people there, too.) Really, I don't have time for people who make fun of ...

Thanks Nate
Great, detailed response. It tells me a lot about Bruce's level of board making. I think I have to try a board with 150-155 effective edge with no other variables in order to experiment. The only problem is that my longer race boards have a different flex than my all-mountain board. I am guessing th...

Hip Dragging turns
Nate, It's good to know that you're linking hip dragging turns. I'm interested in hearing how you feel about your Coiler's effective edge and flex. Does the board work for you when you're laying out a series of carved turns? I certainly like Canada's custom board manfacturer's, Coiler and Prior, but...
