I am looking to drive up there - do I need a 4x4 to get up the mountain road?

Re: New models of hard boots and tests for extremecarving

Hi Patrice, Hello for the 2018 season, first of all! :-) regarding the kitesurfing, I think you help make my point. In kitesurfing (a sport where, yes, I dropped £1000+ on a kite) at least you know, you have to stump up xx cash to participate, but then you have EVERYTHING. Whereas, I think an elemen...

Re: New models of hard boots and tests for extremecarving

Hands up who hasn't been waiting for this post. :-) I think the advice should be, if you go for hardboots, spend the extra for injection moulded inners from the outset *unless* you have the feet dreamed of by the designers... save other liner testing costs and half a season? Most hard boot liners ar...

Re: Your comments on my backside please!

Thanks tali and Capykiller, It's a small step for man, but a giant leap for EC! :-) I will try this at the weekend. Laax Vorab glacier seems the best place at the moment, as everywhere is melting and slushy. I went to Laax last Saturday, but the glacier was closed due high winds. I did the highest r...

Re: Your comments on my backside please!

LOL about Brexit, I think it is safe to say no British skier or boarder ever voted for that, since most of our sport is done in Europe! :-) I want to correct myself about point 2 I wrote above, it seems there are 2 styles? The one in Petr's videos seems to indicate being more upright going into the ...

Re: Your comments on my backside please!

Hi Wouter, I am probably not qualified to give advice, being a beginner myself. And yeah, backside turn is still my nemesis, so I feel your pain, and which is why I feel compelled to post. it is fortunate you have someone to document your progress, as someone already said, what you *think* you are d...

Re: ACSS for UPZ RC10 installation question

Thanks Capykiller. Is it critical how much to take off, or do I just make the ridge fit right-angles to the boot? Would you be able to show a closeup? Sorry to be 'precious' - I haven't yet drilled holes in expensive boots! :-) I better go to my storage to find my Dremel! One thing about living in S...

ACSS for UPZ RC10 installation question

Hi all, When I place the bottom piece against the slot on the boot, as per the picture, in this area, the boot surface not flat, but a curve. Do I need to sand it flat? It is not mentioned in the PDF, but the video shows this area sanded down a bit (i think, picture is not that sharp). (sorry, the p...

Re: Test goggles for EC

Hi joemzl, yes I saw that post, and very interesting it was too. I just posted a one-liner there, as my German language skills are terrible! :-) I bought the Oakley Flight Deck with initially the Black Iridium lens (because it looked cool!) but since switched the lens to the Rose, for low light use....

Re: Swoard ECS 2017 - 14th session: Feedback, pictures, etc.

My first ever Swoard event, and it was a pleasure to meet you all. While my 2.5yr old son was getting his first ski lesson, 'Daddy' was also getting lessons from the very patient Arnaud! I just wish, I could recognise you all from dinner, to the pistes in your ski clothes! Many thanks to Julia, for ...
