Snow
It's grim over on our side of the pond. Temperatures are near all time highs and the only precipitation we get is rain. We've only had one minor snowfall in Vermont all season and it's frequently too warm to make snow. I'll be in Davos February 10-17. I understand conditions in Switzerland aren't pa...

Rebirth
Hate to say it but alpine boards are still scarce in New England. There's only one shop (The Starting Gate near Stratton) that stocks alpine gear. I can go a whole day at Okemo and not see another hardbooter. I'd like to see a resurgence but it's not apparent in my part of the world.

No spot for me!
I'd be happy to respond to your poll but, at age 59, the choice isn't there!
A similar poll was conducted on bomberonline.com. See: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/s ... hlight=age

Walking mode
I leave my Raichles in walking mode almost all the time. If racing, I'll rotate the knob 90 degrees which gives the boots a flex range from 1-3. If I try to ride for any length of time like that, my quads give out. Maybe if I was younger (I'm 59) my legs could handle it but not these days. While we'...

Update
The Frappr map http://www.frappr.com/hardbooters has been experiencing "growing pains". The site developers are working on getting the bugs out of the system. In the meantime, I created a page that will address some of the problems people have been experiencing. Go to http://www.mtlski.com/hardboote...

Google Earth
In the satellite view, you'll notice that some parts of the earth are gray and others are green. The gray areas are in high resolution. Unfortunately, you won't be able to zoom in as far in the green areas. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it. In the United States, the entire states of Massac...

Glad you folks are enjoying the map. Remember the site is still in development and it has its quirks. If you make a mistake in your "shoutout" there is no way to edit it. Email and I can delete the entire entry so you can post it again. http://www.frappr.com/hardbooters Put the following code in you...

Demo the Swoard? And where in Europe to sched a club trip.
Our ski club (only a handful of boarders) takes an annual trip and we alternate between the Rockies and Europe. We just got back from Telluride. We're giving some thought to next year's trip and I wanted to get recommendations. we generally bring 50-100 people and there will be a few cross country e...

Volkl RennTiger
I've been riding a Volkl RennTiger GS board for two seasons and love it! It's a 168 cm model and I use it for racing and freeriding.
