...No weirder than your looks eh drzone ?! Thanks for the pm by the way! Nils, I'm getting a lot of advice on another forum to keep my angles low w soft boots, and also your advice here for NO overhang. 168 will not allow lower than about 35 degrees with my 10.5 US boots and no overhang. I'm also ta...

Yes, I would prefer no overhang because dual would be my only swoard (for now). ...but isn't 45 degrees rear and more (maybe 60), too much for freecarving with softboots? (both feet pointing forwards...not duck ! ..LOL!) I keep hearing about lack of lateral support with softboots. Oh, and dual rider...

Dual
I studied the dual measurements by the inserts, and with my 28 mondo softboots (32 cm length on the boot outside without bindings), I found out that I need boots turned about 45 degrees to get zero boot-out (168 Dual). 41 degrees with 175 dual. As someone new to carving (and 180 cm/76kg in the showe...

Thanks Whitey I'm set to improve carving and push it a little towards extreme perhaps, and would like to start off on the dual with softboots. I have a few less pounds (at 175) than you, but same boot and height. I was thinking the 175 dual wouldn't be manoeverable enough to manage the tight spots o...

Any thoughts on sidewinder cants with DUAL /Prior ATV ???
Result! Thanks leeho! Maybe I'll start with zero;3 then. How do you walk normally? I tend to wear the rear outside corner of my shoes on both feet, and the soles to the outside, and as I said; duck out 15 with both... but not knocked. Seems like I must be a bit bowed though in the knee. I have 2 air...

Interesting post Felix; thanks. How they walk doesn't bother me. ("Like with rock boots "No pain, no gain!?) Yes; I buy most of my outdoor gear in the states; but order it to our US address. I could never cope with the duty to europe. I agree that it would be preferable to use softboots for freeride...

Any thoughts on sidewinder cants with DUAL /Prior ATV ???
I stand duck 15 out both on the street, with little remaining inside menisci or articular cartilage left, but knees not bowed or knocked. Would be interested to hear if the seemingly generally accepted wisdom of 0 degrees front and 3 degrees rear applies here to the Prior ATV and SWOARD DUAL(new to ...

Canting / no canting ?
So what 's the concensus on this?
Canting or no canting for free / extreme carve on the dual ?
Doesn't it depend...?

Rilliet, I also forgot to mention this comment by Fivat in "Dual or Extreme carver" topic: "Dual: Since you are only a hard boot rider, you may prefer the Extremecarver. The Dual is good for soft boots too and for freeriding, what you don't like if I understand well." I also wondered if Fivat was fr...

Rilliet, One last question! 168 or 175 ??????????????!!!!!!!!!!! I only did a few half days on snowboard, but can ride reds now in a smooth controlled way. I learn fast with a background skiing, windsurfing in waves, kitesurfing and motorcycling (I like to turn!) Weight out of shower 76 Kg, height 1...

Yes! I heard that a lot ! Rilliet, I think you enjoy setting down this challenge to the boys ("noone did it yet")! The pix would sure be good advertising !? Hey, Rcrobar / Rilliet, what stage are you in Kg and cm (up, not round!)? I read your notes on the other page about lively versus float -choosi...

Thanks, Rilliet; yes ..like a duck! My soft boots are quite stiff, and the K2 Cinch CTX bindings also. What would the minimum foot angulations be on the 168 and 175 to avoid overhang, but still get enough leverage to develop the carves? Presumably I could have both feet positive. Would risers help? ...
