Re: 2013 Deeluxe hardboot model "Free69"

Good to see they've noticed the "free carve" market potential.

Re: Neues Video Laydown Snowboard Team

I like Mani's style, the usage of the terrain variation. Especially at 1:00 sharp!

Re: help with pomas and t bars

We're all still learning, this is something that I still must learn when I get to steeper terrain. Still I feel I'm improving.

Oh, and the Argentina trip still seems to be happening, but I think I'll have to leave my gear and rent something there locally....

Re: help with pomas and t bars

Maybe you use your hardboots stiffness to keep the board on angle instead of using your ankles. This is not a problem if you do it on an easy slope, but once you return to the steeps you will fail in hardboots too. So on heelside, pull your toes toward you, and on toeside, push them away from you. T...

Re: Asking for Advice in choosing the right Gen4 EC, thanks!

I think this advice only holds when comparing 175M to 175H, not when comparing shorter to longer boards. Due to decreased length, you need more stiffness to hold same weight over a shorter length.

You could even buy your new boots in Sölden. In several stores! Hardbooters mecca!

Re: Asking for Advice in choosing the right Gen4 EC, thanks!

I think Raichle boots are relatively long compared to mondo size, while Head and especially UPZ boots are much shorter. And since they're 123's they should be pretty old and worn by now. So if you switch to UPZ boots you might shave off another 1-2 cm of effective boot length. Don't think the 175 wo...

Re: It actually worked!!

If you unweight the board by pulling the board towards you, you can always control it easily. You see it in the push-pull demonstration just before making the turn in order to flick the board over to the other side. It's the crucial thing to do to make such easy looking smooth turns.

Re: New swoarder.....

Transistor Rhythm - what do you mean by modify boots? Are the stock race boots no good? And are they now longer making race boots (your comment about being the last chance to buy new)? HEAD stopped making these boots a few years ago. If you leave them as-is they are really stiff boots, and aren't u...

Re: New swoarder.....

HEAD (or the older Blax) boots are wide boots. I've bought a new pair from Blue Tomato and they're super tight yet I can walk around in them all day closed down. But they definitely need some work before they really work well for EC! Either modify them or buy something else! This season is probably ...

OK maybe I didn't understand you so well! :)
Abrax wrote:Its a very solid amount of knowledge but in general we should aim in 50-60/45-55 angles with a hard board and in 15-20/30-40 while on softboots.
I would suggest a beginner to start with those angles too :bravo:

Re: It actually worked!!

Very cool to read your enthousiasm! Makes me want to go out boarding even more today! I never understand why everybody gets set up in duckstance nowadays, I don't see so many people end up doing park or pipe so why torture beginners with that stance? It also reminds me to do some more rotational dri...

Re: Which boots?

If you go to Soelden, you can try on all brands and types of boots. Lots of stores still sell hardboots there.

Get the ones that fit best. Only the Deeluxe 325 and 225's should be avoided I think, all other boots are or can be made into good boots.
