Another short video, Easter turns at Koli, Finland
We've had some really nice and sunny days in the past few weeks. Today was not one of them. But that's okay since it was still full of some fun fun fun turns at Koli, Finland! Our three-man strike team did heavy patting on each others' backs in circle formation and shot some evidence of the process ...

Re: End of the season :( - broken finger
Tested/tried a pair of REY's gloves this weekend at the carving-masters: they are the BOMB because the overall surface is bigger as with finger gloves; result: less chance you will stuck into holes, you will have more mass to pieces of ice to break through. Size M, they were a little too big, but s...

Nice! Do you have footage of the whole race track, or someone coming down the whole run, to get a better overall idea of it?

Downshifting's the new trend
Myself and Matti did some downshifting with a 400 fps video camera at Koli ski resort today. A high quality short film should follow, even though the weather was cloudy. Here's a quick teaser:

Re: Video Busy Day at Koli
In koli one thing causing the snow (both from cannons and natural) to stick on the trees is the location (the hill rises right from lake shore) and this seems to have an effect especially when the winds are coming from the lake (even though it is obviously frozen in the winter time). There's a disti...

Abrax is actually a modern ventriloquist. Only this time with a keyboard. I'm the lap doll.

Re: It actually worked!!
I expect I shall need the Abrax spring system to help forward lean? Yes. Edit. Ok, maybe a simple 'yes' is a bit too much of scandinavian efficiency.. :) Since the Le Mans boot originally comes with the 5-position (or 3-position?) lock mechanism, the only thing giving you flex is the boot plastic. ...

Re: Getting close
Hi! * Check Ben's instructional videos, found here * For the heelside, get down (on 'back seat') when initiating the turn, in the picture you have legs stretched (eg. you are standing up when you should be down on the board tail). Then continue rotating and pushing up towards the turn (again the bes...

Re: Importance of plate (non-intec) bindings and spring syst
I use Intecs and still manage to get some decent turns done every once in a while, in my opinion at least. To get down & up the boot has to flex, so I would weigh the springs over the classic binding in 4:1 ratio, but guess that a more flexible binding would contribute to the overall result. I'm lazy.
