Very cool! I like how the music cuts off right before the exciting parts so both the visuals and the audio leaves you hanging. Be sure to download the teaser instead of watching the streaming one - it's significantly higher res, and then don't forget that the final res of the real HD footage (correc...

!!! I wish I'd seen this thread earlier! Can anybody give me the details on the Las Vegas show? It's only a 1.5 hour flight for me. If I can't make that, is there a list of other film festivals that Carved will be in? Wait, on second look, it looks like NAB is a trade show, not a film festival. Neve...

The two people with Oxess boards in that picture are Ueli, who is one of the 4 people at Oxess, and Jacky (Jacqueline?), his (now) fiance. They got engaged in the gondola at Ajax two weeks ago! I wanted to try their boards but they are both very tall (190+ cm?) and the inserts were too far apart for...

Picture from Aspen :D

The Pureboarding group came over to Aspen while I was riding there and invited me into their group picture. Hey, what kind of board is that in the very middle? :D Great, friendly bunch of guys - they have a very relaxed rotational style as well, and ride short, wide boards (the #TWO rides like a sti...

Oh, hah - I didn't even see above Skywalker already did the math. Although to be over precise you can't actually project like that, as the board doesn't project, but bends (so from an overhead point of view it shortens as it flexes). Probably a negligible amount, but maybe not when it becomes very, ...

If the shape was going to have any effect on the board performance the board flex would have to be tuned to perform collaboratively with the sidecut shape and the rider would have to be perfectly balanced on the board to get the board to get full edge contact... I don't know about that. The flex+ca...

I just got back from Tahoe... last Wednesday they got 1.5-3 feet of powder in 24 hours (45-90 cm!). A lot of the mountain I went to had been closed due to weather on Wednesday during the storm, so Thursday was sunny skies, cold air, and all that 1.5-3 feet of powder fresh and untracked! That might b...

Hi - I have never tried these, but for what it's worth: 1) Some people use a tap and cut new threads of greater diamater in the existing insert, and then use a larger screw for that one particular insert. May be difficult to find a screw of the correct size if the screw head for your particular bind...

I've seen video of fellow California carver Peter (yomama on these forums) doing some nice heelside laydown turns (hips and armpits on snow). Looked just like his regular heelside EC turn, but slower (smaller sidecut + softer freeride board, I think).

Still have not heard back from them :( Are tooltonic sharpeners common in stores out where you are, or are most people obtaining them through the website? And are you mailing their contact email address or filling out their contact web form ? And are you writing in English in French? Thanks for the ...

tooltonic

Hi - I know many people swear by this sharpening tool. I emailed the tooltonic site last January and again earlier this week, but never got a response, and they have no distributors in the US. Would anybody be willing to drop by a retailer and pick me up a tuning set, some finishing files/stones, an...
