Thanks for all the input! The video posted by capykiller really shows my weakness (rotation). I think I need to practice the rotational carves more. As mentioned, he's almost doing layed turns with just proper rotation. I'll work on that first and try to get pictures of myself.
Thanks,

Re: Backside EC turns tips
I’ll try to get some pictures on Wednesday but I think I would look like this when I feel “seated” and not able to fully commit to lay down (I feel like I’m gonna fall backwards).

Re: Backside EC turns tips
Hey Arnaud,
You’re asking two important questions that could have something to do with my issue. I have an old pair of Raichle SB323 and my weight 162 lbs (73kg) which is a little bit light for a 168H board but I bought it second hand and that’s all I could get in eastern Canada.
Thanks,
Allain

Re: Backside EC turns tips
Another question, can EC turns be practiced statically? What I mean is, can I practice the rotation and especially the “drop” while on flat ground (i.e. on my front lawn) without speed?
Thanks,

Backside EC turns tips
Hi all, I’m looking for some EC tips from all you experts. Last year, I got my first Swoard board (a Gen 4 168h) and have been studying various online materials on how to EC. I think I have the fundamentals under control (push-pull and rotational carves) but I’m struggling with my backside turns. I ...

Re: Binding setup question
Oh! Totally makes sense now. Now, final question. If I use the center 4x4 holes on each binding and I'd like an extra 1cm, would you favor moving the front binding by 1cm or the rear binding? (maybe +/- 1cm doesn't matter) The reason I'm asking is I plan on trying 49cm, 50cm, and 51cm so see which w...

Binding setup question
Hi all, New Swoard owner here (168H Gen4). I have a quick question regarding the binding setup. I figured out my stance width with the help of other forum threads but I have some question about the which holes to choose in the board (49 to 50 cm). When setting up your bindings, do you start with the...

Re: Which SWOARD to get?
I'd say a year. So next year I would ride at 170lbs (77kg). It looks like a lot of people can handle the 168H at 77kg... So it sounds like that's what I'm going to get.
Thanks people,

Re: Which SWOARD to get?
What a hard decision!!! I used to be 220lbs... lost about 40lbs in the last few years. Now I plan to lose some more but where will/should I stop? 175? 170? 165? 160?... tough decision.

New/First board: NEED HELP (updated)
Hello all, I'd like to start extreme carving this winter. I know about SWOARD boards but I would like to get better/expert before making such an investments. Also, living in Canada makes it extremely costly. What are the best "mainstream" boards that you would suggest to learn the "extreme carving" ...
