Feedback
SWOARD boards were officially introduced in February 2003. Immediately, the first SWOARD owners sent us highly
enthusiastic and positive feedback, writing reviews about their impressions on the snow.
Here are some extracts of their feedback, which you can find in the
Forum.
Feel free to post you too your reactions and impressions, whatever they are. This can only motivate us to continue to develop
and promote, by passion, this marginal yet growing discipline.

"Feelings on the SWOARD:
To be sincere I’m in heaven! It has a very good behaviour in deep snow, it’s VERY STABLE at high speed on all kind of snow
('ve never seen such an easy board to steer), and most of all: it blasts everything on hard snow! For the first time I could lay
down completely without loosing adhesion in back side: a real dream to rub the snow with the hip and the full arm…"
"However, you really did good job with the SWOARD guys, it’s far and away the best carving board I’ve ever ridden, it’s an access
to a brand new dimension. When you’re on it, you wonder why such a great thing has waited so long to appear, it’s so obvious!!!"
"Another remarkable thing is that the sole is absolutely amazing, it slides best than a wet soap on a mirror, you let everybody behind…"

"The SWOARD makes its turn very precisely. Whereas my Nidecker Proto tends to drift a little bit at high speeds in the tail part, the SWOARD
cuts the turn on a very thin line without any edge skidding. At higher speeds and longer turns, this gave me a save and stable feeling I’ve never
had before. As far as I can judge it up to now, the edge grip of the SWOARD is really excellent."

"Edge Hold The edge hold was exceptional. The board would not slide out no matter how fast or hard I tried to lean a turn over.
It didn't matter whether I was plowing through the crud, hitting the rock hard exposed sections or carving hard groomed snow. The board edges
stuck like glue."
"Stability The stability and ride was super smooth at higher speeds. I have never felt so relaxed and stable when cruising with
speed. When riding at slower speeds the board was very easy to turn, it felt agile like a much shorter and softer board."
"Easy to Turn I previously owned a race board with a sidecut radius of 13m. On many of the runs at my local hill, I was unable
to finish a carve with the race board. I just could not turn the race board tight enough, causing me to run out of room before finishing the turn.
On the Swoard, which also has a sidecut radius of 13m, I was able to complete and link my turns with room to spare on the same narrow runs.
"Snappy Flex When doing smaller radius turns with moderate speed, I really noticed that the board had a snappy feeling that
popped the rider into the next turn. Combine this with a timely leg extension and the Swoard felt like it had a booster rocket attached."
"Gliding the Flats The way the board carried speed on the flats was simply remarkable! It just seemed to keep on going and going
with very little momentum required."
"Versatility The Extremecarver has found a great balance between power and all mountain versatility. At times I felt like I was on a race
board that was tracking on a rail. The next minute, when in deeper snow or moguls, I felt like I was on an all mountain board that had a large nose."
"Bottom Line The Swoard Extremecarver is a great board that has the potential to become a classic.
It is a welcomed addition to any quiver."

"My SWOARD (175 Hard) arrived last week, and I rode it all weekend. It's very stable, quiet, and damp, especially noticeable at high speed, but it is
also very quick and easy to change edges. The board responds exactly to what you ask. It is a joy to ride and gives you confidence when you dive head
first down the hill! The edge just holds. The wider waist lets you ride with lower angles, which I really appreciate since my feet are size 29.5."

"I was stunned. Amazed. This board is like no other boards I have ridden before. And I have tested many alpine boards during the last 10 years."
"Contact with the snow is amazing. The board is flexible yet super nervous and precise. So precise. Once the edge bites the snow you are on a rail
and nothing can alter the turn. On 'regular' alpine boards, mainly the ones shaped for racing, the snow must be perfectly groomed to allow extreme carving.
A small bump and the edge slips. You end up sliding on the snow. Not with Swoard boards. The master mind behind this concept, Mr. Jacques Rilliet, has
succeeded in building a board that absorbs terrain irregularities yet be extremely stable when you are on the edge. In fact that's what Swoard boards like.
To be on the edge."
"They are nervous as well. You can change edges faster than you think. They accelerate faster. Put your board flat and you feel the acceleration."
"In brief this board is a dense concentrate of fun. No mater what slopes you are on (groomed, bumpy, hard snow, soft snow, etc.) you can ride 100%."
"Now you can V-turn frontside and backside everywhere, not only on the perfectly groomed runs that are so few in ski resorts."

"Once ridden properly the edge hold of the Swoard was superior when compared to the F2, which IMO had good edge hold. The board also handled very
well different types of snow, ranging from slush to ice. Whereas my F2 had the tendency to nosedive in slushy bumps, the Swoard did show any signs
of doing this in uneven slush."
"Final judgement: I can't wait to ride the board again! In my opinion the board was well worth its price."

"I spent two full days on my SWOARD 175 Hard and I can tell you all, I had a blast."
"This board is the best I have ever ridden."

"After getting used to the board and running with more speed, it felt very stable and smooth in the turns. It goes were you want in a smooth curve,
without tendencies of nose diving on softer spots, as my narrower boards often do."
"The SWOARD handles all conditions with excellence."
"The conclusion is that the SWOARD is a great board, but it needs some time to get used to its width. It also needs to be driven with a lot of
determination to be put on the edge. Once on the edge, it provides a very solid platform for both tight and wide carved turns without loosing its grip.
It is highly recommended. Many of my carving friends want to buy one themselves."

"The craziest thing is that once the frontside is over, the backside comes very quickly, almost naturally. There is of course still some work to improve
the style. But everything goes on and on, turn after turn. The only limit was due to my legs that couldn't follow the rhythm.
And with this board, you push away your own limits to reach the extreme carving point. This board makes you feel so confident."
"Morality, the Swoard makes all the difference."
