I think it's an excellent board for carving beginners. Limited applicable for advanced carving like EC, due to the soft flex and the short sidecut.

It depends on your skills, height, weight, budget, riding preferences... etc.

Nice entry level board... but if you are more experienced, try the RS. The RS worth the money  ; if you afford it don't waste time on GTS.

Agree totally, the RS or Silberpfeil is a better pic, but I've had plenty of fun on the GTS too. Good value for money.

Yeah, I still have 2 GTS ... both broken  . Good for learning on hardboots [raceboards are definitely too difficult for beginners due their higher stiffnes]. I felt a big diference even from regular RS to RS World Cup edition.

I just cannot understand the flex index on the F2 lines. Just rode a 07/08 RS WC that was supposed to be a flex 10 (loved it BTW!), but have also been on the 07/08 silberpfeil that was supposedly a 7 flex, but way stiffer than the RS WS in reality. I own a 05 and a 06 silberfeil that are really soft and much closer to the RS WC in my opinion.

I'm considering a 08/09 RS but is probably going for the Equipe model - does anyone have any knowledge on how it compares to the WC?

F2 really seem to have their numbers mixed up in the catalogs... especially since they started mixing in a bit more metal in the SP...

There is no widely used consistent metodology to compare the boards stiffness and make a judgement based on those criterias - some brands would disappear if this would exist :-) The only method is real testing, so that why some second hand boards are on sale in almost brand new condition :-) BTW, we can use this as indication what do not buy :-)

No, you are absolutely right, but my point is to at least expect F2 to judge their own boards on the same scale and not call a stiffer board 7 (SP 0708)to a softer board that is stated 10 (RS WC 0708)...

I don't understand... I had a 07/08 RS and it was soft indeed [nose digging, soft tail flex, etc] but the 07/08 RS WC seems to be way more stiff and stabile. So...,should I change RS WC to SP  ?
Anyway... I'm very happy with my 07/08 WC... so far

F2 is making some boards that are different from season to season, but stiffness scale maybe not changed :-)...and some of their boards absolutely useless - Silberpfeil is one of them :-)

Probably not. The dark grey SP definately stands out as stiffer than the RS WC. My old softer Silberpfeil 172 remains my favourite board though, but I ordered a RS Equipe yesterday from the Blue Tomato Sale, so it will be interesting to see how it performs compared to the WC.
