i do not own any soft boots. i have been carving turns for 18 years now. i have made three major improvements. learning how to carve, learning how to do fully linked carves(many thanks to Swoard) and learning how to ride switch. it is soooooo much fun! cheers.
Ok, i understand. You just want to try something new. So,it was a stupid youngster`s question. I still learning just for two years and made two out of three need to learn switch as well.
Skywalker - carving in hardboots and on alpine board makes sence, because this is much more easier than in softboots. At least for me.
Great I think we need more of this kind of riding to develop the sport further and see the variety. Having such kind of moves in an EC-film will make it more interesting to other than the inner core of enthusiasts. Personally, I am not certain that I want to risk my legs and knees in order to try. I am looking forward to see you do tricks wiht Swoard.
Great! Really...
It seems so natural, to you, to ride that way... Really nice to see it... and a big "spring" for us to improve!
I only have a problem with my SL163 WC board: if I ride switch, the square (and almost flat) tail dig into the snow. It happened once and... I can remember the crash soooooooooo clearly!
Riding switch on hardboot is a very good exercise to improve balance...
My compliments!

Before seeing this I thought riding switch is kinda useless and boring, but this video opened my eyes.
I love the frequent changes back and forth!
Imagine passing by a skier on a laid backside, then jump and continue the same turn backwards and smile into the skier's face....
I gotta start practicing this next season!
Any advice how to get started? I guess a shorter board will help for the first try, right?
Just for the minor mass involved.
Otherwise, if we speak about carving, a shorter board will be too nervous while you will be practicing carving on an edge riding switch.
