Can I use a Dual 158?

Post by jagr » Wednesday 1 February 2012, 10:06

Hi all,
Would like help to see if I can use a Dual. I am 165cm/59kg/size 6 boot.
I mostly use 140-147 when renting. The shortest Dual is a 158, will it be too long for me?

This will be my first snowboard, will I benefit from it as I'm just moving on to intermediate level. Hope to shorten my learning curve as I don't get much time on the slopes every year.
Also hope to keep the possibilities open to go into a bit of extreme carving as it is very interesting to me while being able to freeride with my friends.

Lastly, can the Dual be easily serviced and sharpened at any normal ski shops?

Hi Jagr

For sure the Dual 158 is perfect for you. Compared to the boards you're used to rent, the Dual is longer but remains soft enough to fit to your weight.

Look at 2 young people using the Dual :

Romane - 13 years old - Dual 158 + HB : Image

And his brother, Paul, 12 years old, Dual 158 + SB : Image

how about servicing, can it be done just about any shop?

I have the Swoard Dual 158cm. and it's a very easy to ride board. Quite forgiving. I posted a short video here. Have you seen this thread? viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8951 :D

Hi yes I saw it, it was great. Thanks

I was thinking of using Flow trilogy bindings for normal freeriding with a soft boot. Wonder if anyone uses that?
