!!! Swoard 2006-2007 season !!!

Post by nils » Monday 31 July 2006, 13:09

Hi everyone, we all hope you have a good summer!
It's about time for us to give some news about the upcoming season.

Some info is updated from last year, and some is new! Just read carefully

- Boards > Now the Extremecarver 2D is available in 3 flexes (stiffness) for the 3 sizes: unique range on the market!
- Prices
- Dealers + availability

Of course you also find info on the Swoard pages.

Boards

As we said, we are very happy with how the 2D behaves in terms of performance, higher easiness of ride compare to the previous model (first generation), so there will be NO "3D model" in the future until further notice... However we have decided for next year to produce the 2D in all flexes (Soft - Medium - Hard) that were previously available.

The 2D features the following

- Strong PE/PU top sheet with matte slightly grainy aspect. High quality silkscreen colors for long lasting resistance. That top sheet is way stronger than the previous to scratches.
- Triaxial fiberglass for better torsion control
- Carbon designed ATC (advanced torsion control) matrix
- The best available base there is on the market: 4000 Electra base
- Full wood core (spruce and ash vertically laminated wood)
- High quality inserts
- Nose and tail urethane protection insertions: you can now let the board vertically bump the ground without pain! If small dings happen anyway, then you can sand a few mm of the nose/tail without harm!
- Thicker edges for a longer lifetime, this year the edges are a bit longer on the nose for added strength.
- One year warranty on craftsmanship and materials (please read the disclaimer we issued last season: viewtopic.php?t=2378 )

Sizes are 161 - 168 and 175 cm with the width unchanged (21.0, 22.1 and 23.1cm)
ALL FLEXES ARE AVAILABLE: Soft, Medium and Hard!

Prices

Full tax prices from our local dealers, of from us in Switzerland has been set to 760 euros. Small increase from last year, due to materials costs huge increases.

Direct price from us (all orders outside of Switzerland and France): 680 euros

Dealers + availability

All dealers will have a limited amount of boards, around 15-25, and they will have the boards quick in the autumn, then will be out of stock, and then all orders will have to transit via Swoard.com order system.

Switzerland: Force 5 snowshop in Geneva for all Geneva and Vaud cantons
France: Krakatoa surfshop in Briançon, and Surfit in Annecy

ALL GERMAN ORDERS will be processed by us, then transferred to Virus Snowboards that is acting as German dealer for Swoard (simplifies the VAT issues)

Availability:

We have produced almost 100 boards already, and shall do more as soon as autumn starts...The shops will take around 70% of that amount, followed by the first orders that arrive. It means as soon as the Flexes are defined, you will be able to order using the online form, boards will be sent on a first come / first served basis.... Last season, production was a bit slow due to press and molds issues, but Frank is setting new presses do it should be way simpler and shorten waiting times.

Please note carefully how the order process works:

1. We receive your order. You receive an automated confirmation that your order is sent.
2. Your order is processed, and we send you, once shipping costs are known (still not known at this date), a pre-Invoice, with all costs and the bank details. If you think PayPal is going to be cheaper for you than a bank transfer (PayPal is 4% of total amount, while some US and Can wire can exceed 60 Euros), please precise you wish to use PayPal in the order form.
3. Once the payment has been received, we send the Invoice to Virus Factory that directly ships the board using surface or air shipping.
4. You will receive the board with a warranty card that needs to be mailed to us, in order to validate your warranty.
5. Please take in consideration that MOST info on the boards are on the website (soon) and in this forum. The more you send us questions regarding board choices, the more time it takes to process orders. We advise you to ask questions in the forum also if needed, so everyone can benefit from the answers!

French customers: Please inquire directly with the two following official dealers, they can take pre-orders they will transmit us, they will then deliver you the board using "La Poste" service wherever you leave in France.

Surfit Annecy : 00 33 (0)4 5027 8765
Krakatoa surfshop, Briançon : 00 33 (0)4 9221 0562

Swiss customers:
Geneva and Vaud cantons: You will be able to order directly to Force 5 surfshop in Geneva, by mid-October only. They are likely to take orders (hopefully) and write your name down on a pre-order list.
Force 5 Geneva: 00 41 227 352 756

We will take all other Swiss orders, until we find the time for securing a Swiss German shop deal.

ALL THOSE SHOPS ARE OUR NEW DEMO CENTERS: They have at least 5 demo boards: 175H & M, 168 H & M and 161 M. During the season we are going to send them a few S flexes and the 161H too.

So to make things short:
- Geneva and Vaud cantons: book a board at Force 5 shop
- French located: book at Surfit, or Krakatoa shop
- Rest of the world: book directly through us online

Shipping costs (not set yet): Europe around 40 euros, USA/Can in the 110-140 euros range, Asia: below 200 euros. Germany prices should be cheaper but unknown yet

The Swoard EC team!

NB: Dates for the next ECS are known: Feb 3rd to 5th, 2007. Please, no registration for now! No accommodation for now! Wait for the announcement this autumn to get your package (accommodation, cheap skipasses, dinner all together, goodies, etc.).

UPDATE 5th Sept 2006

We now have about 60-70 boards ready... it means they are ready to ship, and all they are awaiting is your order. If you order now, you are sure not to wait too long before receiving it. After the stock is gone, the factory will reproduce batches every other day, but it take a bit longer than out of stock....
Same goes for the shop orders: If you order now, it is better because the shops can then order the right sizes to us, and not wait for weeks. Shops will only receive 20 boards each. It means it is better to book a board now! ( after their stock is gone, orders will be through us, via the website)
Demo boards: each shop has a set of 5 demo boards ( 161M, 168 M&H, 175M&H)

Nils

Update 5th Dec 2006 > IMPORTANT
The factory has had issues with presses, and sick employees... it means they are late in the orders. It means as for now, we have to postpone NEW orders until at least a month. I will not treat new orders now... but will collect them in a waiting list. You will know when the production is back to normal when you receive your pre-invoice!
Meanwhile: all boards that were ordered WILL be shipped before Xmas. Frank just told me. All shop orders will also be fulfilled... just before Xmas. If your order the board now with the shops it is likely you will have to wait for second board shipping which will be end of January minimum.

Regarding Testboards:
You write, that testboards are available at the official SWOARD-shops. You also write, that Virus acts as one of them. Does this mean, that testboards will be available via Frank? ;)

So everything has became clear. That’s why I can’t almost sleep, after I ordered SWOARD more than 2 mounths ago… I know Nils will say – patience. As a Jedi I know what patience is, but can you imagine a Jedi without a SWOARD? ;)

Regards for Virus Team !

availability of boards

Post by schmidtoo » Thursday 4 January 2007, 19:42

I am planning on ordering a swoard. But reading all the postings in the forum and your order process it looks like the customer has to pay the full price WITHOUT knowing when the board will be shipped.
Spending that amount of money I would rather like to check the availability first before paying.
Please do not regard this as an offense !

Another issue :
To avoid shipping costs - do you regularily go boarding in variuos locations (e.g. Hintertux in Austria, Zugspitze in Germany, Corvatsch) where you could meet with the customers and hand over the boards ?
Take care, Markus
